Just a silly little doodle with mine and @winterbunz 's ocs, inspired by their comment of "Geier could carry a Turmfalke on one (1) shoulder" :D

Der Turmfalke steht oft an einer Stelle in der Luft, um seine Beute zu erspähen. Dabei nutzt er auch seine Fähigkeit, ultraviolettes Licht wahrzunehmen, um Kot und Urin von Kleinnagern zu orten.

Für die Mäusejagd benötigt er Felder und Äcker.

Als Kulturfolger besiedelt der Turmfalke strukturreiche Landschaften in der Nähe des Menschen. Zum Brüten nutzt er oft alte Bäume, Kirchtürme oder alte Gebäude.

The common kestrel often hovers in one spot to spot its prey. It also uses its ability to perceive ultraviolet light to locate the droppings and urine of small rodents.

It needs fields and farmland for hunting mice.

As a species that thrives in human-modified environments, the common kestrel inhabits structurally diverse landscapes near human settlements. It often uses old trees, church towers, or old buildings for nesting.

A Hard Book To Finish.

With the clack of the enter key, UMFR H3501, "Bay," breathed out slowly. It was a long, long night, an internal collapse on the east wing had left four Ara units with serious damage. A Eule and Elster had also both come in with minor damage from a Storch who apparently was unhappy with their behavior. She actually knew that Elue, Feder was pretty accident prone, but the attack from the Storch left her concerned.

Not to mention this was all on top of the continued treatments she had received a week ago. The reinforcement of Replika fighter ships led to more surviving pilots coming home, but also more injured patients to work on. Bay shook the thought from her head, she shouldn't gripe about people surviving just because it was more work for her.

Regardless, due to the influx of returning pilots and retrieved bodies, EULR H3516(MED1) "Basil" has been swamped with mortuary salvage orders. The nation wanted no Replika parts to go to waste, which meant Basil had to dissect 3-4 bodies every day. The exhaustion was showing on her face as the Eule stepped into the room, the door hissing closed behind her.

Basil pulled off her apron before removing a set of gloves that were coated in oxidant, tossing it into a disposal hatch. She took the face shield off and went to wash her hands, not really looking in the direction of her superior until she was done. Bay came up by her side with a grumbly breath, leaning her head on the Eule's shoulder.

"Hey..." Bay's voice was quiet as the taller Replika finished up washing her hands. The Eule stared forward, placing her hands on the edge of the sink, staring down into the drain as the dark colored oxidant flooded down the pipes. 5 bodies. 5 bodies today. Basil's hand shuddered a little before Bay took it into her own palms.

"Let's get you some tea, okay? Something to wind down, I can fetch that book you've been flipping through recently and we can just take a breather." She could feel it practically radiating off of Basil's skin. That awful, awful internalized disgust. She cupped the Eule's cheek. "Basil, I'll take over for you tomorrow. Thyme and I can split some of my admin work. I don't want you to stew in this feeling."

There was a long pause before the Eule met the admin's eyes. Basil's eyes were different than most Eules. They drifted between targets, keeping a sow steady lock on everything she did, like the optical receptors were just a tool for her to assess the world around her. Not for expressing emotion or feeling, that ability died with her innocence long before the two had even met.

Yet she smiled at Bay. Her words were barely a whisper, as though she fought back tears to speak even when her face didn't show it. "There's no need. I'll be ready tomorrow. Though tea sounds lovely."

EULR H3547 (MED3) "Oregano" stepped into the room, spinning a set of keys on her fingers. "I locked up the cabinets, and I heard you lot talking tea, so I already turned on the kettle. Paprika's on duty to handle the cups 'n stuff. I'll go fetch Basil's book, that old Beowulf one right?" Her inquiry was met with a nod from Basil who stood right behind Bay, practically standing over her. "Got it, no problem sweet things! Thyme's off fetching some blankets so let's break in the new sofa Chamomile passed us."

The sly remark wasn't lost on Bay as she brought a hand to her eyes as she looked down, trying to obscure her clear blush at the compliment. Oregano always knew how to push her buttons with words. The Turmfalke froze as she felt a set of hands touch her hair, it was Basil standing behind her, slowly undoing her high hair bun. Bay threw her head back as a reflex, it felt nice, but the surprised movement pulled the scrunchy the rest of the way out.

Basil leaned over her shoulder, offering the scrunchy in hand with a small smile. "I'm sorry for scaring you. You always ask me or Thyme for help so I figured I'd go ahead and take care of it for you." Bay's face was practically a flustered puddle of biocomponent and polyethylene.

Bay cleared her throat, doing her best to remain composed before taking the scrunchy and pocketing it. "Thank you, Basil." She stepped by the taller Replika quickly moving to the couch, where she began to fluff each of the cushions.

In the next few moments, EULR H3546 (MED2) "Thyme" poked her head in with a smile. She had a blanket in one hand and a clip board in the other. She set the board down before raising the bundled up blanket up above her head and throwing it at Bay. With a giggle, Thyme watched as it made impact, knocking the Turmfalke off of her footing and making her fall over onto the couch.

As she giggled, Thyme waltzed over to the table at the back of the room where they usually are lunch to save time. She clicked a button on top of an old tape player, rewinding it before pressing play. It was some old classical piece, she didn't know the name but it was mostly just background noise to her right now anyway.

A few moments later, EULR H3591 (MED4) "Paprika," and Oregano came through the door. Each carrying a couple mugs of tea, and the senior of the two with a book tucked under her arm. Basil quickly rushed up to help them, taking a mug from each girl and beginning to pass them throughout the group. One to Bay, who was already sitting up, the other to Thyme who was approaching the Turmfalke with mischievous intent. Basil took another off of Paprika's hands for herself, the rookie thanked her quietly.

The group quickly filed onto the couch, one by one while Oregano hummed to the song. Thyme was already behind Bay, sliding her back into the corner only for Oregano to help herself to the Turmfalke's lap with a giggle. Oregano rested a gentle kiss on Bay's cheek which practically made the shorter Replika melt into Thyme's arms. After watching the entertaining interaction, Basil helped herself to the middle cushion, one leg crossed over the other and picking up her book that was set atop the coffee table in front of the sofa courtesy of Oregano.

Basil looked up from her book to see Paprika dimming the lights to help the girls relax. The senior-most Eule patted the last open cushion to her left, inviting Paprika to join them. "It's alright to join us you know." Despite her flatter voice in comparison to most Eules, Basil was doing her best to sound inviting. She hated knowing how off putting she was to the newbie, and yet, Paprika took up her offer.

Taking a seat with her legs tucked up to her chest, Paprika was the first to yawn. This sent ripples amongst the group, the cuddle pile to Basil's right all began to stretch and yawn, letting out cute little hums and sighs as they got comfortable in each other's arms.

Only an hour later, all but Basil were asleep. Paprika, perhaps unconsciously, leaned against Basil, which turned into the two of them bundled up against the mass of women on their right. Basil gave them all the courtesy of tucking them all in with the massive donated blanket, no small feat to accomplish while still being pinned to the couch.

Eventually however, the gentle radiation of Bay's relaxed emotions rippling through Basil's mind, the warmth of Paprika half rested on her lap and the feeling of being sandwiched on a couch by the women she cared most about in the world claimed Basil. The sweet specter of sleep dragged her down with everyone else.
