It could also be interpreted as green plants, and therefore abundant crops. Abundancy, material wealth, etc.
true, but if there is one thing i learned from my rather hilarious money spells is intent actually matters when it comes to what you're focusing on. so green for abundancy works but you were a little non specific when it came to like actually willing a sudden abundance of a little hard cash and not like finding random winning scratch tickets its just sad. money is money but most scratch off tickets aren't very much.
more to the point i used actual coinage in a spell and do you have any idea how many people randomly drop coins. its a lot. useful if you have to do laundry tho.

That's exactly why I was thinking the passage was so weird. Also I often do spells with a mirror right in front of me or to my side and nothing bad happened. The book said "choose to ignore these rules at your own peril" and this kind of turned me off to continue reading it...
