If there was one thing the senator hated, it was not knowing what was going on with Anakin. He had gone away with Obi-Wan on a mission and it was the last she had seen of him for months. There were rumors floating around that the two were held captive or that they had been killed in battle, and Padme was starting to wonder if it was true. No one had heard from them since they left, not even Master Yoda. Padme stood in front of the window letting out a cry of frustration. She buried her face in her hands, trying to gather her thoughts. She knew that Anakin was probably fine, but that didn’t mean that she didn’t worry about him from time to time. 

Reaching for her data pad, she tried to reach the man once more, hoping that she could get connected to him. She just needed to hear his voice to help but her mind at ease. She knew she shouldn’t listen to the rumors but there were just so many of them going around, no one knew what to believe.

A Sin of Love

After nearly dying and almost losing the man she loved to war, Padmé returned home to Coruscant with a wounded Anakin Skywalker by her side. She knew it was wrong for either of them to give into the love they had for each other, but the former queen couldn’t keep her feelings hidden from him any longer. Telling him of her feelings as they were about die in the arena on Geonosis made her realize once they were safe from the beginnings of the Clone War that they couldn’t hide from each other. Considering the risks that were now involved didn’t make either of them change their minds. They had to play it safe while around the Jedi and her advisors. 

Months had passed since the beginning of the Clone War and the couple made yet another dangerous decision. Wedding arrangements were being planned on Naboo; however, Anakin had to stay at the Jedi Temple to train for what would be the most dangerous mission any Jedi would ever embark on. That meant Senator Amidala had to work twice as hard to prepare and work alongside other senators to make sure the galaxy would be safe from any and all threats from the Sith. 

It was a stressful time for both of them and yet Anakin and Padmé made an effort to make time for each other. With a secret estate miles away from the Jedi Temple, they met in secret where their love had no limits and the two could be themselves. “Do you think we can really do this, Ani?” She asked. “Get married? Get away with it? Have a family?”

Normality had emerged with his arrival. Reposeful intervals of time elapsed serenely with him there, safe, at reach of slender arms delighted to appease every remain of the conflicts he had not only been an spectator of, but participator. Augmented by the newest resident of her physique, the love professed to her husband irradiated each minute spent in his company. The alterations induced by pregnancy not only had, as expected, triggered visible changes to her body but with dainty modifications usually blamed on excess of work. Aspect effortlessly overlooked whilst tenderly reclining on his chest.

The tranquility of frankness reserved for moments like this were soothing thoughts, deviating to slumber. " For how long are you going to stay this time? I'm afraid most of that time I'll consume on sleeping and eating. " Murmuring with drowsy amusement the abrupt distinctive sound of glass shattering woke her to startle. The fruit container that garnished the table rested in pieced on the floor. Accusatory spheres interrogated the jedi. " Did you do that? If you wanted to eat something you should have told me or ask Threepio. "

The blast was so hot and powerful that for a moment Padme Amidala couldn’t move. Even though she was standing a good distance from the ship – the heat and the force of the explosion was enough to knock the Senator a few steps back. She could feel the fire brushing against her flight suit, threatening to singe her dark hair. Scraps of metal and shards of glass went flying – scattering across the landing strip like flecks of ash. Padme screamed – a delayed reaction far too late to stop anything – but there was nothing else the young woman could do.

Even as the Captain yelled at her to stop Padme began running towards the crash site. Towards the woman who had taken her place…dressed as her, carried her credentials, been her body double for just such an occasion. But it was nothing Padme could have anticipated. The handmaiden lay on the ground, her gown ripped to shreds, an entire half of her face scuffed up by burn marks and bits of metal. And even so – she used her last precious breaths to look up into Padme’s eyes and frantically whisper ‘I’m sorry – I’m so sorry…’

Padme wanted to say something – anything to ease the woman’s agonizing sorrow. But the guards were rushing towards her. Before Padme could barely breathe right once again, much less speak, the Captain’s firm hands were on her trembling shoulders and she was being led away. Away from the crash site. Away from another death she had caused.

“Alert the Chancellor of what’s happened! We’re taking the Senator to Secure Site D – we need increased security there now!” the Captain said as he led her towards the insides of the Senate building towards a sub level chamber far away from the landing strip or even any window. Padme was in practically a metallic prison cell. She’d been so happy this morning at the chance of seeing her old friend, Chancellor Palpatine, and even more so Anakin – who she had longed to see ever since the year they stopped coming to the summer villa. But now…now she could hardly think straight – her mind descending back into the familiar pathways of dread she had walked during the assault on Theed almost a decade ago.

Though Padmé was in the greatest place among the clouds, she still couldn't help but feel so alone. She felt like her heart wasn't healed even though she was saved. She hated herself for giving up when she knew Obi-Wan would need someone too. When her children needed their mother. But the mix of all the pain she felt in her heart, mind, and from childbirth was nothing compared to what she felt now. Today was the day those dead could visit their loved ones. She would visit A̶n̶a̶k̶i̶n̶, no Vader. That's what he called himself now. But maybe, just maybe deep down her Ani was still there. Maybe her visiting him could change all that. And then she would visit Obi-Wan and Luke, and find Leia and Bail. She had a list of things she needed to do, list of words she needed to say, to get off of her chest and maybe, just maybe she would feel, better. Maybe just one visit would cure her loneliness. But she wanted to be able to feel him, touch him. She hated herself for leaving him, but what if he hurt her. Oh wait, he did. @turnedtothedarkside

Ornate redolence acclimatize the lodgings where cuisine ought to be consumed. Table, accommodated for two, had been embellished with plenty variation of breakfast service, ablazed by nothing more than beams of glowing natural light. Fickle textile of her coverings escorted the ambient. Familiarity of her native planet displayed in her cozy demeanour, only disrupted when obligations emerged in precaution of her escort's advances.

Even across the furniture his scrutiny menaced her tranquility. Conduct attempted to remain solemn, to disregard the evident allure. " Do Jedis have a particular diet to follow? " Petty hand seized the glass conducting it to smiling lips that welcomed the interval from inquiring by  imbibing fresh liquid into her mouth.

REACTION MEME: Bruised and Broken Version

“I hardly believe that to be true,” Anakin remarked, a smile turned upon his lips. With his eyes set upon her, lowered to meet the familiar contours of her face, a feeling of ardor swelled within his chest. “Most people say I’m reckless or impatient, things along those lines.”

Which in all proofs couldn’t hope to be denied given his heedless nature when in battle. Gaining and injury or two, it was common by now, expected during times of war. “Besides, that’s a little unfair, don’t you think? Jar Jar has everyone beaten in that particular area. You should know that better than I do.”

Padmé raised an eyebrow. “Are you perhaps suggesting the judgement of a Senator to be incorrect?” she teased, her eyes meeting with his and her heart almost immediately forgetting how to function. 

“Most people? They don’t know what they’re talking about.” Padmé delicately traced her hand down down Anakin’s arm until it met with his own, and she laced their fingers together. Her silky hands no match for his calloused, rough skin. They were opposites and their attraction went far beyond all means Padmé ever could have ever imagined. 

She spoke slower now, “You’re charming, handsome, strong, caring...” She trailed off, “but you don’t need me to fuel that ego of yours, do you?” Her crooked smile returns upon her lips.

Upon entrance, auburn scrutiny overhauled her life partner's countenance for a minimum inkling of alteration. What she contemplating to trace deemed unknown even for herself. Granted, occupations has sustained an engaged mind for most hours of the day, however an embittered sensation emerged (and abducted) great part of her thoughts given the company her husband had that day.

It echoed in her mind, the uneasiness was unjustified for, he had been solicited due extent of his abilities. Even if mistaken, it was imprescindible for her to entrust him. Which she did. With her whole soul. Thus why lips curved up to a smile, endeavouring normalcy in mouthed queries as if welcoming him back from any other day.

" Was your day as productive as mine was? I hope you didn't face difficulties doing. . . what was that you were called to her place for? "
