Hey, Incredibles 2, #turnofftheflash
So as some of you may know Incredibles 2 has intense strobe and flashing lights. This can trigger seizures in photosensitive and epileptic people. So if you’re thinking of seeing it and you are prone to seizures: DON’T
Disney/Pixar made a very quiet announcement about this issue and many theatres don’t have warnings before the showing. This is incredibly (no pun intended) irreponsible and dangerous as people with epilespy going in have no idea that there are flashing lights going in and can get sick as a result. I have a friend with epilepsy who almost went to see it. Luckily she was warned before it happened so she didn’t go. But if she didn’t know, she could have gotten a seizure and have to go to the hospital.
Disney/Pixar and other companies need to be more aware of how flashing lights and strobe can affect people. Especially since there may be young children in their audience who don’t know they have epilespy yet.
Disney/Pixar, making your film inaccesible to a sizable group of people makes you look terribly ableist and uncaring, and also decreases your sales. (People’s lives are obviously more important than money, but companies tend to not think that way)
So, Disney/Pixar and the entertainment industry, please #turnofftheflash
