Take Action: Your Faucets
You would really think that a tiny leak in your faucet could lead to the drought but you’d be surprised! Faucets area huge contributor to the drought. The thing is people forget about faucets, when you use it, it doesn’t exactly seem like a boat load of water. However, overtime the length of time you leave your faucet running can make a very large impact on your wasted water. Just take a moment to think about whether or not you leave the faucet running while brushing your teeth....or washing the dishes. Odds are you probably do leave it on, and even if you don’t, if there is a leak then you are also wasting water! Make it a monthly inspection to check for leaks, and if you are going to brush your teeth or wash the dishes be aware of your water consumption and only use the absolute necessary amount. Another tip, if you can’t fix the leak in your sink, or other area, place something to collect the water under it, once that is full you can use that to water your plants!
