back in 2011 #turntablefm launched and it became quite the social media sensation, a site where friends could play music and hang out together. Over the next 2 years, I made real life friendships that lasted well beyond turntable.fm shutting down in dec 2013 💖 #turntable is now BACK online, with pretty much exactly the same functionality with a few nice upgrades. Late night during ThePipShow After Hours / Pip At Nite, I was inspired to make a concerted effort to keep it irie on the daily. So, uh, I guess we’re diving into this #100HappyDays thing. Sounds good for an #IrieRX right? Anyway… here’s day 1.
An appropriate one at that.
On this day in 2012, I posted my first ever #podcast. It was meant to be an experiment just to prove to my buddies in #PPRAE who expressed a desire in starting a podcast, that it was totally and completely do-able. Armed with nothing but a macbook, I awkwardly spoke about my involvement in the music industry and played 6 of my favorite songs of the moment. As much as I’m dying to re-listen, I’m holding off because tonight is my regular night. You see, after I ran out of free space on #Podomatic, @PipFromWichita (who I’d met through PPRAE on #TurntableFM, and IRL in this past October) offered me a time slot on the #InternetRadioStation he was involved with, #RadioXenu. July will mark my 4th year with the station, and this year I’ll have the honor of hosting the #RXTop20 Mid-Year Countdown!
It’s just all so crazy to me, how I stumbled into this beautiful platform. The light of my life (outside of Penny). And 4 years later, it’s still a thing! And there’s folks all over the world representing this thing I do on their chests. I’m so completely grateful for all the support. I mean, this was going to just be a one-and-done thing. Turns out I had a lot to say, and much music to share. My PPRAE buddies pushed for a second and third and fourth and fifth episode. And Radio Xenu listeners have pushed me on since then.
It’s such an incredible opportunity, to bring music folks may not have otherwise heard, to their ears. It’s a privilege to spread the music of #underground, #independent, and #DIY artists. I love what I do. I’m so happy that it’s still going, and people can take things away from 5 hours of blabbering about what moves my soul. I’m ecstatic that there’s folks who will go and put their money toward artists they’ve heard on the show.
In celebration of these fruitful 4 years, I’m bringing an all-time favorite artist to my local spot. #JoeyEppard at Olive’s in Nyack, NY.
It really couldn’t be any more appropriate.
I mean, everyone has had the thought of being on the radio, right? It was a thought I had as a kid, but never really thought I could do. I found myself working with the incredible #theband3 in 2007. They were putting out a new album and released a single. Heck, the music video made it onto MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball Top 2007 Countdown. #16, I believe? Yet still, I had the hardest time getting the single radio play. Our army of Threedom Fighters gave our all, calling in our local rock stations. Frankly, I’ve never heard the song on FM radio. On the Neeshcast though, we hear plenty of the criminally underrated 3. Radio Xenu has several 3 songs in rotation.
I’m just so happy that my loves could come together. April 30th. Joey Eppard & Friends at Olive’s in Nyack.

Open Alpha is Here!
Wooooohooo! Our open alpha site is ready for launch! Here’s the address to our lobby. From here you can join any of the pads we have available for our launch. Just make an account with any email. This doesn’t have to be a real email account, just in valid email format ([email protected], for example). PLEASE NOTE: this is alpha and therefore not all functions are working perfectly! Also, don’t get too attached to your account and playlists, as we will most likely be erasing the database when we move on to the beta version. We hope you like our work!
