I didn't really have much of a relationship with your Grampy growing up. He was gone most of the time, working his ass off for us.

I think to him, being a good provider was the most important quality a father could do for his family, and he was just that - an excellent provider.

When I was younger and filled with angst, it was easy to be angry about this fact, but now that I'm a parent to you two, I understand; he played the best cards he thought he had. He did his best, and really, that's all you can ever hope and ask for.

But on most days, I wish I would have told him that seeing his face more often would have been nice.

You two have a very special bond, and nothing could please me more.
