Rewritten contract is still on the table, take your time. But not today. Today is a day of rest for you.

As promised, atop the PC was a small jewelry box. Inside was a pendant made from a crimson metal, "Follow The Hopping Bunny" etched around the edge, the center being a glassy yellow gemstone shaped like a lightning bolt. The pendant was connected to an ornate chain, closer inspection revealing smaller etchings.

[ Billy chuckled as he picked up the gift. It was actually really nice. A lot nicer than the birthday gifts the gods usually gave him. ]

Y'know, you remind me of me a little.

Not the "godly power in a mortal package" thing, but your job.

If you don't mind a little rambling, I grew up... isolated. Carved stone walls were my home, an altar and its heretical preacher my only entertainment.

When I was twelve, I was tasked with going outside, with luring people to their doom, spending days with my leg caught in a trap.

Sometimes, when folks came by, I would end up following them to camp. First time I ran across a radio. I fell in love, the DJ breathed life into me, the music making my heart grow into a new rhythm.

Had things gone different, perhaps I could've grown up to become a DJ myself. Someone the people listen to, someone they go to by letter for guidance.

Would've loved such a job... but ah, well. I have my new lot now.
