Only took me like 3 months but here’s my entry for @gemsonazine !
“Mapping out a War”
Turquoises were employed by Blue Diamond to map out planets as potential bases during the gem war, as they were created originally to be cartographers. Purple Mojave Turquoise and her squad (consisting of 4 regular Turquoises, a Lapis Lazuli, and a Tanzanite General and her pearl) land on a planet one galaxy over from the milky way, and an argument between the General and the Head Cartographer erupts over the best way to make a camp for their expedition.
Well I’ve had this is the works for a few weeks now soooo I finally finished it up and here it is. I’m a huge fan of @artifiziell and I really wanted to draw her Moonstone with my Turquoise gal’s all fused up, I imagine this meeting wouldnt go down all too well, what with the Turquoise’s fusing only for work related purposes..... anywho! Let me know what you all think :)
And here they all are together! My beautiful blue (and purple) babes! So from left to right we have Turk (Facet-2T4M Cut-6VN), Lil' T (Facet-3K1R Cut-7RN), Eyes (Facet-3S1R Cut-7NR) and Coy (Facet-3E1H Cut-6CN) So yeah I'm pretty set now on my idea of turquoises being cartographers, mapping out planets for potential kindergartens, making note of any places that would be specifically better for making a kindergarten and all that. So Eyes, being the captain of the squad, would be the actual map drawer, with the other 3 taking on roles of scouts and whatnot. Anyway, I love them, I hope you guys do too <3
And the last of the squad! She's probably the favourite design I've made thus far, as much as I love the rest of my turquoise babies It was a kind of ''on instinct'' decision to make her colour palette be that of a purple turquoise, but I'm actually glad I did? So in my headcanon for turquoises right, the ear danglies that I made them all have are a sensory device made and distributed specifically for turquoise gems, who can't form ears and therefore can't hear on their own. So basically they're like alien cochlear devices lol. I'm not sure yet what role I want to give them job wise, but maybe something to do with cartography? So my headcanon for Turquoise Facet-3S1R Cut-7NR, or Eyes, is her being a mohave purple turquoise makes her rarer and therefore assigned as squad captain. Mohave's tend to only have the one eye, and as such get larger sensors, though they're all still made the standard blue. She's also a bit taller than normal turquoises, as you'll see in my next upload, which will be all of the squad lined up. Anyway, this is getting lengthy, so I'll wrap it up and get onto uploading the squad as a whole
And another one lmao This is Turquoise Facet-3K1R Cut-7RN, otherwise known as Lil' T Yes she is technically an off colour, being mildly overcooked (and hence a chubby bubby ;3; ) but they all love her. Personality wise she's pretty similar to Amethyst, maybe just a bit less loud lol Only one left to do is Eyes, and I am looking forward to drawing her up ^^
