the cheetah 🐆 and the dog 🐶 together
During my visit at the turtle back zoo I passed by this habitat of a cheetah and a dog living together. They’ve been together ever since they were little. It’s so amazing and sweet how two different animals could be together.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — A female Amur leopard cub has been born at Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange.
“The cub, named Nadya, was born Friday, March 13. The birth of the cub has great significance because the Amur leopard species is classified as critically endangered.
“During these difficult times, it’s nice to share some good news. We welcome newborn cub Nadya to our zoo family and look forward to watching her grow,” Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo said.
“Nadya’s birth demonstrates the important role zoos have in helping to strengthen the population of endangered animals around the world and raising the awareness about conservation and the importance of animals. I commend our Turtle Back staff for the care and attention they are giving Nadya.”
Nadya, whose name means “filled with hope” in Russian, is the first cub born for her parents, mother Annika and father Valeri. She was 540 grams and 9 inches long, with a 5-inch tail at birth and is expected to grow to be 55 and 90 pounds and 3 to 6 feet long, with a 2- to 3-foot tail.”

I travel to zoos often. I been to a lot, and over the years have managed to get increasingly better at photography. So I thought I would share some of my proudest ones with you all. I did retouching on them on photoshop. The zoos these animals came from were Turtle Back Zoo, Zoo Atlanta and Kansas City Zoo. I have 0 idea if anyone will appreciate this but if it turns out y’all do then I will sure in the future post some more.

Here is something I’m thankful for. I’m thankful I am able to make art for animals and to be able to share that art with amazing people who do great conservation work like @robertirwinphotography and @officialturtlebackzoo. And thank you to @fallontonight and @australiazoo for sharing these amazing creatures with your audience and giving them a chance to fall in love with an animal they may never get to see in the wild. Our voices are stronger together when we say these animals and the places they live are worth caring for. Seeing two sculptures I’ve made on two episodes of The Tonight Show involving the Irwin family, who have been such an inspiration to me, has me crazy happy right now. Thank you.
