hii angles, i recently got an ask on my [ screencap account ] asking for a tutorial for my moving grain pictures that i use for almost everything. this is my first tutorial, so i hope it's clear! i use PHOTOPEA to edit, but i'm guessing for photoshop users it may be the same. this may also be a long way around it, but it works efficient enough for me :)
BEGINNER FRIENDLY! ★☆☆☆☆
firstly, you'll want to load in any picture you want to create a moving grain for, if this is an edit, make sure the text is ABOVE the picture, most grain actions and sharpening tools tend to make text look awful, in my opinion, but that's up to you! ( layer, not player. *facepalm* )
EDIT: make sure you filter these pictures with NO grain.
second, duplicate the picture edit as many times as you want, i tend to go for four, it seems like the perfect amount for the edits i make, but you may like more or less.
third, select all layers EXCLUDING THE TEXT LAYER and go to layer > animation > make frames. this will turn your picture into ‘moving’ frame pictures like a gif.
fourth, i personally use my own action for photopea, but in the case of just wanting a moving grain, you'll want to select all those for layers EXCLUDING the text layer. this is where you'll add any sharpening if you'd like it. to get a grain though go to filter > noise > add noise and find a level of noise you're comfortable with.
fifth and final, you're free to save your work! remember to save it as a gif, or you will not get the moving grain. <3
