do you have any tips for robot drawing? i find it very hard with all the angles but your style is just so soft and lovely looking it just looks soo good and really works
I’m really bad at explaining things but I’m gonna try (maybe add pics later if i have time dfjhfdv
Practice drawing cubes and circles without rulers and similar. Obs you can use the help but given that most robots are mainly made “less organic” shapes knowing to do these without help will make things easier.
Start with the most simplistic robot designs as pracitce. Even if you wanna draw big badass mechas strting with tiny cartoon robots like robonyan from YW or Mettaton is a nice first step!. But you can jump to something a bit more complicated I recommend Transformers Animated! The designs in there are very simplistic compared with the other series and still help a whole bunch to get into the bigger more complex designs.
Learn about human proportions and then twist it a bit. Most robots have humanoid designs in some sense, meaning stuff like two legs that are longers than the arms, hands when down are near the butt, etc. The “twist” part is catch in where thet differ. For expample, in Transformers Prime most characters that is their exagerated narrow shoulders and big chest, or way longer arms in the case of Starscream/Soundwave, othersiwe you can follow human proportions as reference.
You don’t have to draw every detail. You can ignore decorations and screws and stickers and lines. A character has 6 bio-lights in his stomach? u can draw two lines and call it a day. You can even add and improvise when you feel something odd (hearts instead of insignia for example).
Trace. I don’t mean like, steal someones art and repost it. I mean find some official image you really like of a robot and try tracing it, it actually is gonna help you a lot by taking your time on it helps you notice details and way to draw things.
Good luck! <3

I'm sorry if you've already answered/explained this somewhere I just couldn't find it anywhere. On your picspam tutorial you put up two different files on the same screen? How do you do that? I'm VERY new to photoshop, and it's probably the most basic thing to do but I don't know how. Thank you :)
open a new file (ctrl+n)
open your caps/pics (ctrl+o)
select movetool (v)
and then drag the pics/caps onto the new canvas
i dont know how else to explain it
to get to the new canvas and the pics in different windows
take your mouse to the tab and left click > hold and the drag. if you drag it to the left or right to a colom in photoshop they will be next to each other
