I followed a tutorial from Tuts Plus to make this winter scene. I was trying to learn more about clipping masks and gradient meshes. It was challenging, and I felt like some of the instructions left out parts that made it kind of hard to follow. But I do have a little more experience in those little used areas now.

Gathered Skirt | Tuts+

If you're wanting to get into sewing  your own clothes but not sure where to start, a simple skirt is a great place to start. The nice part about sewing your own clothes is you get to choose how long/short you want it to be and it will fit you perfectly. This project includes a covered elastic waist band which is probably the most difficult part. Then make a few more in different colours and lengths to fill out your wardrobe!
