THUNDERBOLTS SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT

(john walker rant)

i think a lot of people aren’t getting the fact that john walker isn’t a good person. we have watched his character through TFATWS and THUNDERBOLTS*, there has been an arc for sure, but the whole point of john walker is that he is morally complex, he isn’t completely bad but he’s not completely GOOD either.

i’ve seen a lot of people saying everything he did was justified, and he never did anything wrong. that is just factually incorrect, he’s also not a character who’s actions and behaviour are always grand. a lot of villains have these huge goals that we immediately align our own morality against, john walker is introduced as an everyday ‘villain’, he is representative of a lot of real life people.

he joined the army, did stuff in there he didn’t want to do but stayed anyway, he became captain america and everything he did there was also a choice, including killing nico, bludgeoning him to death with the shield while he was surrendering. he pulls rank, he’ll shame others and expects none back, he is narcissistic and also a great portrayal of the government failing veterans in the system.

it is clear that john is changing, everything with saving and helping bob does show that, and in the post credits, him still being in the team after 14 months, it speaks a lot for itself. he is a great character because he’s so complex, i know people will forever debate his morality but i hope the fandom can come to their own conclusions that it’s not black or white for john.

RAHHHHH, GUYS WE’RE AT OVER 100 FOLLOWERS, im so happy!! Im getting sentimental now, i have some lovely moots who i may not keep the best contact with, but they’re so lovely.

not just that, I’m a slow writer but things have been in the works. So many drafts, as you can see there, and even more on Google docs. I have so many ideas, and many written down or actually almost finished. I’ve written so much this year (and end of last year), I can’t wait to show you guys!!

It’s also nice that I branched out in this blog to make dividers!! I can’t describe how giddy I get when being tagged in a post when someone has used one. I literally do a frowny smile ☹️, I’m so touched. AND HONOUREDDD.

I used to have another blog, I deleted it and I had had that blog for years. All my stories, I didn’t back many up, thinking they were awful, that nobody misses them. But sometimes I miss them, I want to see glimpses of past me, to see how much I’ve improved and enjoy how I used to write. And maybe other people miss them too, but I would probably never know.

I also got the courage to have a side blog, and try being more active on this app in general, tumblr can be such a beautiful place and I’m so open for mooties and anons!! If you see this come on through!!

I always doubt my ability as a writer, whether I can write something that is actually compelling and enjoyable to read.

And I’m slow at it. So it takes eons to actually post most of the time.

I love the fact that when I do post, there’s always at least one person who truly appreciates it. I have comments that I keep close to my heart because I did not expect them.

People’s reactions and inputs are incredibly important, and when they’re so genuine I literally just adore it. Hearing someone’s thoughts on something I made? It snaps me out of the whole ‘am I an okay writer? do I make anything good???’

Okay that’s it, that’s the post. I love people who comment and reblog and like. You help keep my world moving.

Okay but good news maybe I’ll stop cock blocking myself when it comes to my own writing. Because fun fact, I start writing and then I STOP.

RIGHT BEFORE I GET TO THE PART I WAS EXCITED TO WRITE. I’ve been pretty inactive when it comes to posting any fics, but let me tell you, my brain has been concocting so many stories that I know would go so hard, if I actually just, y’know, finished them!
