𝓦𝓸𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻𝓯𝓾𝓵 𝓥𝓪𝓷𝓮𝓼𝓼𝓪... ....Redgrave, of course ,remembered here after watching another exceptional edition of 'TV Lica' about the actor Rade Serbedzija that took me back to the turbulent 90s and the time when I was writing about them both at great length in the cultural supplement of Politika. After re-reading this article featured here I was reminded of how their stage work was badly perceived by the British theatre press at the time. And I remember how brilliant they both were not only as actors but also as people. Warm , gregarious and supportive of not only each other but also us, the young emigres and refugees eager to become an integral part of the cultural parlance. Unlike the Ukranians at the moment, us escapees of the bloody conflict in the former Yugoslavia (1991-1999) were very much left on our own and marginalised. There were very few people in the public eye here, like Vanessa Redgrave, who put our suffering on the stage for the world to see and that should be remembered.
