1955 #Gibson #LesPaul Junior...in original NATURAL finish!!!

I thought it was faded cherry at first, but luckily @colinjcripps, one of the most knowledgeable vintage guitar experts in the country, was in attendance and he explained to me that this is one of the rarest Juniors imaginable. It's one of only ~20ish made in 1955 with the "TV Model" silk screened on the headstock but left natural rather than finished in "Limed Mahogany". The owner told me he hunted for a natural junior for 20 years before acquiring this one. In reality, it's actually MUCH rarer than the Flying V that I posted yesterday! Pure insanity...🤣

PS: The 1966 #DeluxeReverb was just "laying around" the studio so became an impromptu guitar stand, and the narrow panel #FenderChamp oozing with vibe belongs to Colin. I could spend all day just photographing it! 😂

Here a teaser from my photo shoot on the weekend. But believe it or not, the item in the picture that really excites me is NOT the 1956 #LesPaul TV Junior (although that in itself is pretty damned exciting!). . No friends and fellow amp-o-philes, the really exiting item in this shot for me is the matching #LesPaulTVmodel #amplifier! How many of these have you seen? Exactly! Very rare. Same circuit as the #GA5 #LesPaulJunior #amp but from what I have read online the #TVmodel had a bigger speaker (always a good thing in a small amp!). Cosmetically, this one is labeled as "LesPaul TV Model" (the GA5 would have read "LesPaul Junior") and actually has a graphic of an old-timey television set around the #Gibson brand name (I'll post a photo of that as well someday soon). I guess the idea was back in 1956 that you would have bought these as a set (upgraded from the Junior set but still not as expensive as going for the "Special" or "Standard" outfits) for your kid who wanted to learn #guitar. The TV connection made it cooler for the kid than just the plain old Junior model! 😀 . This was my first (and probably last!) time seeing a set of 50s TV models together in one place at one time! 1959 #Gibson #LesPaul #TVSpecial. . I don't make a living from photographing #guitars - it's just an all-consuming (and expensive 😂) hobby for me. But I am very fortunate to have a network of great collector friends and friendly #vintageguitar shops in my area who share my love of #vintageguitars and #amps (and also appreciate a nice photograph!) and who very kindly let me take pictures of their incredible gear, and allow me show it off here. I am indeed fortunate and very grateful to them for the opportunity. It is a rare privilege to have access to these world class local #guitar collections and shops! .
