Joined Torchwood at the age of 24.
Lobbied to have a Torchwood unit opened in Cardiff in 1899.
The request was granted in 1907 and he was placed in charge of the team.
Retired after the death of Harriet Derbyshire but was still on-staff as a consultant until 1942.
Harriet Derbyshire (physicist; circa 1919; deceased)
Recruited directly out of Oxford though at that time, women could only attend lectures and not obtain degrees.
Her professor in Physics recognized her extraordinary aptitude and recommended her to Torchwood.
Killed on active duty at the age of 24.
Her notes reveal she was on the way to beating Heisenberg at discovering the Uncertainty Principle before she was killed.
She was awarded a posthumous degree when Oxford changed its regulations regarding women in 1920.
Douglas Caldwell (active circa 1918)
A Draughtsman in the Royal Engineers.
Became a member of Torchwood when a Z127 airship became ensnared in the Rift, causing a war to break out. Gerald Carter argued that Hill’s experience made him essential to the safety of the Earth.
A member of Cardiff’s Torchwood until he transferred to London to work in a research and development capacity.
Best known for his work on cloaking shields.
Died in 1957.
Lydia Childs (active circa 1918)
Torchwood Secretary
Born and raised in London.
Said to have possessed a remarkable memory and eclectic knowledge.
Carter wrote that she also had ‘outstanding organizational qualities’.
Took to the field when other members were indisposed. (Note: I think we would have gotten along splendidly.- I.J.)
Doctor Charles Quinn (active circa 1918)
Fell victim to an alien parasite at the age of 13 and placed into quarantine by Torchwood.
Saved by the work of Dr. Jan Van Nellen but recovery took years.
While under observation, his education was provided by Institute staff and he became a protégé of Van Nellen.
After obtaining his doctorate, he was recruited into the Cardiff Torchwood team.
Made significant studies of alien anatomy. (Note: Owen should thank him- I.J)

Alex Hopkins (leader; Died New Year's Eve 1999)
Called his team into the Hub on New Year’s Eve and killed them all. Except Jack who wasn't present.
He believed that the team was unprepared for the upcoming dangers in the 21st century which lead to the massacre.
He seemed to have deleted everything about himself and his team before he shot himself.
Jack then took over as leader, giving up his freelance title.

Born on the Boeshane Peninsula around 5094.
A Time Agent from the 51st century.
Abandoned the agency after losing two years of memory.
He became a time-travelling con artist.
Took his name from an American volunteer from 1941.
Met Rose Tyler and the Ninth incarnation of the Doctor (Note: He says something that happened around this time is what made him immortal but he won’t tell me what.- I.J)
His vortex manipulator burned out in 1869, leaving him stranded on Earth.
He was discovered and tortured by Emily Holroyd and Alice Guppy until he agreed to take on missions for Torchwood. From there, he changed it to what it is today while he waited for the Doctor’s return.
Suzie Costello (weapons expert; active 200?-2007; deceased)
She was in charge of the alien technology that passed through Torchwood.
Not much is known about her. She was on the run when she joined Torchwood and her files were wiped clean. (Note: I’m not going to go into details about Suzie and her crimes. I never speak ill of the dead.-I.J)
Toshiko ‘Tosh’ Sato (technological expert; active 2004-2009; deceased)
Her name, Toshiko means ‘genius child’ (Note: It really does fit her- I.J)
Born in London in September 19th, 1981. (Note: Strangely enough, Mary stated that Tosh was born in London in July 1975. Can’t understand the discrepancy.- I.J.)
Her parents were part of the Royal Air Force.
Tosh worked at the Lodmoor Research Facility, run by the British Ministry of Defense. She was blackmailed into stealing plans to make a sonic modulator and successfully built one. UNIT found out and she was arrested and held without trial. Jack Harkness heard about her and offered her a job with Torchwood which she accepted.
Covered for Owen Harper when he was hung over and met the Ninth incarnation of the Doctor while pretending to be a medic named ‘Dr. Sato’.
She was a master of technology, able to bypass any security she encountered.
Shot and killed by Jack’s brother, Gray.
Doctor Owen Harper (medic; active 2006-2009; deceased)
Born February 14th 1980
Engaged to Katie Russell who had an alien parasite in her brain. While in surgery to deal with what they thought was a degenerative neurological condition, the alien had killed the surgical team. Jack appeared, explained, and left with Katie’s body only to return later and offer Owen a job.
Shot and killed by Aaron Copley and was resurrected by the risen mitten so he could bid farewell to his friends. Turned out it didn’t work properly and Owen became a member of the living dead.
Died permanently after trying to stop a nuclear reactor from going into meltdown.
Ianto Jones (factotum; active 2007-2009; deceased)
Born on August 19th 1983 in Cardiff.
One of the few survivors of Canary Warf.
Past researcher in Torchwood One in London.
Joined Torchwood Three in hopes of finding technology to save his girlfriend, Lisa, who was half turned by the Cybermen during the battle of Canary Warf.
In charge of organizing the Archives.

Born in Swansea to Geraint and Mary Cooper in 1978.
An officer on the Cardiff Police force prior to joining Torchwood.
Was recruited by Jack Harkness to bring someone ‘empathetic’ to the team.
Lead the team when Jack disappeared to chase the Doctor.
Married to Rhys Williams and has a daughter named Anwen.

Ianto Jones’ Team
Ianto Jones (leader, active 2013 to present)
After awakening in the UNIT Cryo-chambers in August of 2013, he was directed by River Song (who was waiting for him) to restart Torchwood in Jack’s absence.
Reason for his revival is unknown.
Set up base at the Torchwood Estate in Scotland.
Jenny (weapons expert, field agent, active 2013 to present.)
She was created from the Doctor’s DNA when it was stolen from his hand on the planet Messaline.
Able to use and understand any weapon.
Trained in hand-to-hand combat.
Joined Torchwood after her ship alerted her to a Sontaran bomb located in the Torchwood Estate. Ianto realized her skills when she disarmed the bomb and offered her a job.
Amelia ‘Amy’ Jessica Pond (field agent, active 2013 to present)
Past companion of the Eleventh incarnation of the Doctor.
Transported to the past by a Weeping angel but fell through a rift years later, ending up in 2013.
While searching for the Doctor in hopes he would take her back to Rory, she discovered Torchwood and decided to join in hopes it would lead her to her raggedy man.
Name: Janet (Note: Seriously Jack? At least the name I chose for Myfanwy was creative. Could have found something a bit more exotic for an alien.- I.J.)
History: In 2007, Janet was found lurking around the Royal Infirmary and managed to kill a member of the staff before Torchwood was called in. (Note: For some reason, we've just kept her in the cells. I'm not sure why. It just became a normal thing. -I.J.)
Weevils themselves are race of savage alien humanoids, also known as Toothsome, that continue to fall through the Cardiff Space-Time Rift and have been on record since the second century. They're stronger than humans and, though considered to be of low intelligence, they are known to mourn the loss of their own kind as well as wear clothing. (Note: This is the raw basics about Weevils. More information is in file #891245 titled 'Weevils/Toothsome.- I.J.)
Facts about Janet:
Though she's known to kill humans for food, she did not kill Rhys when he was trapped in he hold with her.
She whistles a mournful tune when she senses the loss of one of her kind.
She once worshiped Owen because he was one of the keys for Durac (Death) to enter the world. (Note: Owen should have been happy. For once something was worshiping him.- I.J.)
Janet's primary use in the Hub is for intimidation during interrogations.
Name: Myfanwy (Note: The name, meaning 'my beloved', is of Welsh origin. (Naturally.) And it's pronounced 'Muh-vah-noo-ay'. Not 'My fanny'. And I named her for a Welsh Goddess who sung beautifully. Jack and Owen don't appreciate my humor at all -.I.J.)
History: In 2007, this Pteranodon fell through the Cardiff Space-Time rift before finding a temporary home in the countryside; emerging only at night to hunt sheep. She was tracked down and corned in a warehouse by Ianto Jones. After teaming up with Captain Jack Harkness, the pair managed to sedate her. She was relocated to the Hub where she currently resides. (Note: If not for her, I wouldn't have gotten a job at Torchwood Three. I have no problem feeding her extra chocolate weekly for that.-I.J.)
Facts:
Her food habits include chocolate (Note: Preferably dark- I.J.) sheep, birds, and any food coated with a special barbecue sauce developed by Suzie Costello.
She is trained to never attack a member of the staff, to never make a mess of her meals, and to return to the hub if Captain Jack Harkness activates a subsonic signal on his watch. (Note: Myfanwy seems to be protective of the hub and it's staff. She's saved Tosh from falling to her death as well as protected it from alien intruders. Must be because we feed her.- I.J.)

Can be used on aliens as well as humans.
Amps haven't been measure yet but 200 seems to be the peak.
Notable Users:
Captain Jack Harkness used it on a Histrix and, due to the fact he thought the gun was on stun when it was on kill, ended up killing the creature. (Note: And the spines got embedded into the ceiling. Guess who had to get them out?- I.J.)

Captain Jack Harkness once used it to kill a Nostrovite at Gwen Cooper's wedding.
Subject: Life Knife (Note: My archives, so my name for it stays. -I.J.)
Weapon: A three blade knife
Material: Trintillium blade with micro-gyros built in.
Specs: 8 inches deep by 3 inches wide. Metal type is unknown though the 'Risen Mitten' is made of the same material. (Note: Might explain why it's easier to resurrect someone with the right gauntlet after they've been stabbed by the knife.- I.J.)
Features:
No special properties other than the connection to the gauntlet. It's primary use is the same as every other weapon; made to kill.
Notable Uses:
Suzie Costello used the knife to violently kill countless humans for her 'research' with the gauntlet since it's more effective on victims of violent crimes. Plus the connection between the two might have something to do with it.
Captain Jack Harkness once used it to stab Suzie Costello to make the gauntlet more potent after Suzie set in motion a series of murders before she was killed.
Triple deadlock system (Note: This seems to have failed us on numerous missions. Even teenagers can steal it. Might have to upgrade security to something completely new provided that it actually works- I.J.)
