I'm super constipated out of fucking nowhere and the internet said to drink water so I did and I'm still constipated it's just wet now
I’m thinking about a hot jock with constipation. Those protein shakes and his terrible diet aren’t helping him go. He’s just all blocked up, and only gas is emerging. His farts are short and don’t bring any relief, because his guts have ground to a halt. Even his workouts aren’t satisfying because his bloated, taut belly is just getting in the way.
You’re his roommate. You come back to find him lying on his bed, clutching his distended tummy and groaning in pain. His tummy is huge, and it’s not even gurgling or digesting. Everything is sitting in there like a rock and he’s desperate for some help. What do you do?
A stumbled into the flat, desperate. They had been constipated for a few days, due to stress and insufficient fibre, and something they'd eaten today really wasn't sitting well. The afternoon had been a mess, with their bloated belly cramping up so much they had no choice but to run to the bathroom often, even though only gas emerged. When A had been driving home, though, disaster had struck. The cramps were constant, squeezing their tummy so badly that their ass tried to wink open and push everything out, but A willed it shut and clenched down hard. Their lower belly had cramped up so fiercely they nearly had to pull over, although they just about managed to make it home.
A kicked off their shoes, dropped their work bag in the hallway, and rushed to the bathroom. With trembling hands, they clutched their tummy and doubled over, trying to undo their belt and pants. By the time they did, they were sobbing and whining from the pain.
Sitting down only provides some relief. They still had to take a deep breath and strain, before an explosion occurs. Panting, A sagged to the side, no longer frantically rubbing their tummy, but still feeling unwell. Straightening up, they push again, groaning as whatever had been backed up presents some resistance, refusing to come easily until they push hard.
Everything is sore. Their ass is sore, their tummy is definitely aching still, and they're drenched in sweat after the mad dash. When they're finally done, they clean up gingerly and take off their clothes, heading for the shower. The hot water soothes them, but A is so drained that they just want to rest. Stepping out of the shower wrapped in a towel, A holds their belly still, rubbing it idly. Then, the door to B's room clicks open.
A freezes. Was B at home? Had they heard everything, including A's pathetic groaning and moaning?
What do you think should happen next? 😈
I've been having many stomach aches recently. I keep swinging between constipation and diarrhea - for a day, or a few days, my stomach will insist on holding on to everything in it, and I won't feel relieved even after I've gone to the bathroom. Then, my gut will decide that everything needs to be crampy and urgent and loose. What's worse is that I've been eating cabbage over the past few days. It didn't give me a problem before, but nowadays it makes me bloat and get all crampy and gassy. I'm really in need of someone to rub my belly...
Poop talk below the cut, but I’m getting concerned, so here we go
This constipation thing is getting baaaad. I haven’t had a decent movement in days. The last time I’ve recorded a decent movement was like...Saturday, and I’ve been trying laxatives and they aren’t exactly doing much. Granted, I was also vomiting earlier, but I’m getting concerned. Usually Metamucil does something by now, even if the Milk of Magnesia takes a little more time (I’ve been taking Metamucil since Tuesday night, once a day, but I took the MoM at eight when I got home tonight.)
I’m like ???? Should I go see a doctor?? It’s hard for me to get up in the morning but it’s sounding like I need to go see one, because if this gets worse over the weekend, then I’ll have to go into the hospital. Not that it’d be AWFUL, but I’m not a big fan of needles and I don’t want to deal with that.
Anybody have advice...? Beginning to get super worried.
1/2 Hey there, I have been following you for a little while and wanted your personal (and also medical, seeing as you're studying medicine!) advice on a TMI recovery topic. I've been in recovery from anorexia for over 12 months now, am nearly at a healthy weight, but experience constipation A LOT. I've started getting into the habit of using laxatives (stimulant ones) up to 3x a week. My Dr seems to think this is an OK dose but I am concerned about the long term effect it's going to have on ...
2/2 .. my bowels. I eat all the 'right' foods for constipation and drink over 2L of fluid every day. I also do light yoga and gentle walking in the evening but nothing 'natural' seems to be working. This issue is now starting to negatively impact on my recovery because it makes me bloated ( = poor body image) and often leaves me with no appetite. Do you have any advice? I'm getting kind of desperate :(
First of all, congratulations on being nearly weight restored, that's brilliant news! You've worked so hard and we're all so proud of you :) I'm sorry you're having trouble with your bowels. It's really very common in recovery, I've had similar problems at times, it's nothing to be embarrassed or worried about. Over the counter laxatives are absolutely fine in the short term, if they're working for you, but if there's been no improvement after a few months, maybe it would be worth talking to your Doctor about it.
You're doing everything right with your diet, light exercise etc, so you might want to get checked out, just to be safe. I'm sure it's just constipation caused by all the changes in your metabolism, but it's always better to be sure, especially as it's been going on quite a while. Maybe your Doctor could prescribe you a stronger laxative for the short term, to try and get rid of the problem once and for all. It would be better in the long run than relying on OTC laxatives long term.
I hope this helps a little, and well done again for your incredible strength in fighting back to weight restoration, it's such a wonderful achievement <3
