Five chapters of the [Stiles has a twin/Stiles is kicked out of the pack] sequel written. Out of seventeen. Gonna be a long road.
And that road has been made even longer because I got distracted by adding to my weird multicrossover comic script idea.
A crossover I wanted to draw since last summer.
seanconneraille replied to your post: …replied to X seanconneraille: GALAVANT!!!!!!!!!!...
oooh how would you sterek it? (if you don’t mind)
OK so, Sterek-ing Galavant. (I haven’t thought too much about this so everyone please feel free to jump in):
Originally I was thinking Scott felt very Galavant to me. That kind of... “tumbling head over heels in love and getting tunnel vision” mindset feels very Scott to me. And that would probably set Stiles as Sid... but it falls apart fast after that because Kira could be the “cute” and adept swordfighter Isabella, but Allison would have to be Madalena and... no.
And then I was thinking of Derek for Galavant –– fell hard and blindly in love with someone who ended up being literally evil (DDEW :P ), who betrayed and crushed him, leaving him in a state of misery for a long time afterward. (Kate, if that wasn’t obvious. ...But I kind of like Madalena too much to want to stick that on her.)
And the next bit got a little tricky, because I was bouncing between Stiles as Sid (I just kind of like him as the snarky and underappreciated sidekick, and Derek could just as easily fall for the squire who’s always stood by his side once he stops thinking about Kate) or making him Izzy. And Izzy and Galavant’s ballads over s1 are pretty perfect fits for Sterek, honestly. “Maybe you’re not the worst thing ever” as a confession of feelings? Honestly.
------
BUT THEN I decided: what about Stiles as Galavant? Deeply in love with Lydia, who’s only interested in him for his status, which is just... very season one Lydia. She was incredibly intelligent, calculating, and completely willing to ditch her current boyfriend (Jackson) as soon as someone with a potentially higher social status came along (Scott, becoming co-captain and winning lacrosse games etc), even if it betrayed her best friend.
And I like Lydia for Madalena because she shows moments of humanity in season two, once she starts actually feeling things, actually caring for someone, and that feels very in line with Lydia’s character growth.
So Lydia/Maddy ditches Stiles/Gal when a better offer comes along (omg is King Richard Jackson??), crushing him and sending him into a spiral that he doesn’t pull himself out of untiiiiiil a distant royal appears at his doorstep, asking for help.
And Derek as a sardonic, determined, less than impressed royal, willing to do anything to protect his family, keeping secrets from the group and holding them on a need to know basis, not to mention an underdog with impressive fighting skills... yeah, I can see that. (Oh! And remember the episode where they go to Sid’s hometown and Izzy big fake smiles her way through pretending to be engaged to him? = Derek at the police station.)
Ok, so I’m really liking--
Stiles -- Galavant Derek -- Isabella Lydia -- Madalena
And Richard -- Jackson...? Maybe? I’m not so sure about that one. I love Richard to death, he’s probably my favorite, and I’m not sure Jackson would completely work in the role but as far as someone who thinks he’s a tough guy who’s honestly just an spoiled brat, who starts out just taking what he wants because... why wouldn’t he? until he’s knocked down a few pegs and has to sort out a new identity... yeah, I could see that.
But then who would be Sid in this case? Scott..? And Gareth, Richard’s (Jackson’s?) loyal friend and torture-loving henchmen who Lydia eventually and reluctantly falls in love with?
I’m gonna need some second opinions on some of these characters...
No, I didn’t start writing a Teen Wolf/Jurassic World crossover instead of getting back to any of my WIPs. Nope. Not me. ::shifty eyes::
I have 10 chapters of a story (TW AU, featuring magical characters like Magnus and Margo and the team from the 17th Precinct pilot), and probably need 5-10 more to go to wrap it up.
Do I post the first chapters in a scheduled way, hoping I eventually finish the story? Or do I wait until the whole thing is written? Does anyone have an opinion?

Stiles hasn't been back to Beacon Hills in years, but he doesn't regret turning his back on what was left of his life there and rebuilding from the ruin and ashes. He learned how to process his grief, he's found comfort in his skin and in his identity, and he feels like he's growing as a person.
He likes his jobs---tutor by day, drag queen by night, and emissary in-between---and he likes his place in the Sorrentino Pack. He might pine for Derek, whenever he comes to visit, but he's used to that and values their friendship---the only one he's kept since moving to San Francisco for good and swearing new allegiances.
When Nick hears that Drag Race is likely to be rebooted, he urges Stiles to audition. So, between balancing his jobs, his changing relationship with Derek, and everything else, Stiles tries to put together a video to succinctly show and tell why he should be America's Next Drag Superstar.
Oh no, why did you have to go and come up with that idea! Pairing up Cole and Chris would. be. epic. When you put it that way, Cole really did deserve better. What I also loved about Chris, like you kind of mentioned, he really wasn't following the complete, pure good ideal. Like, we saw him interacting civilly with other creatures and having connections with demons. They're just really well thought out characters tbh. And hey, I won't complain about you writing it. Cole + Chris + fic, go <3 -K
On a different note, does Wyatt and Chris kind of remind you of Scott and Stile’s dynamic. Wyatt the sweet , innocent-like brother and Chris, the clever sarcastic one? Not sure though, talking about it made me think of that. Oh, also, I always believed Chris still remembered his time with the sisters when he tried to save Wyatt. It’s something I firmly believe in but wanted to know what your thoughts on that was. -K
Starting with your last bit first… I seriously hope so. The end of Chris’ arc… and I feel like I don’t want to be too specific in case anyone’s reading who hasn’t watched it yet (in which case, just go to Netflix and watch s6 of Charmed and then come talk to me because it’s awesome). But the end of his arc is so unbelievably tragic and heartbreaking and I know we see him again later but it was always so bittersweet to me because it wasn’t really him, was it?
And now I’m going to go blow all subtlety out of the water so stop reading if you want to watch and be surprised, but it’s like if Derek went back in time to stop the fire and succeeded. And in a way that’s wonderful because we know Derek would want that more than anything, that he would give anything in the world to be able to have his family alive and well… but it’s also tragic because the Derek that got to live happily ever after with his family wouldn’t be our Derek. It’s a sacrifice he’d make willingly, happily, but he and everything he became, everything he struggled through and suffered through and the beautiful, strong, heroic man we all love would die, would cease to exist, in the process.
So I need to believe that Chris remembers. That everything that he was and everything that he went through wasn’t just erased. That maybe when he reached the age he was when he died the alternate memories started filtering back into him (because as much as I want our Chris to live on, the idea of him having those traumatizing memories as a child is not a pleasant one). So now he remembers both lives, but with the grounding perspective from his happy lifetime to keep him from becoming bitter over it.
As for Chris & Wyatt = Stiles & Scott… I’ve been thinking of Chris more as Derek than Stiles. Like, if I was going to write a Charmed TW!AU for that era I’d probably assign Derek Chris’ role (though I don’t know who I’d make Stiles then, don’t ask :P). But a lot of that’s based on the parallels in their situations –– dark past, dead family, evil family member they used to be close to, trying to get the heroes to take the situation seriously while they’re too busy worrying about dating and school/work. But if we’re talking about happy alt!timeline Chris and Wyatt (who I don’t remember as well) then Stiles and Scott might match up pretty well. Wyatt’s also the superpowered “chosen hero” and whatnot, which parallels True Alpha pretty well, with Chris growing up as his slightly overlooked sidekick who has to rely more on his wits.
