Tw: infantile trauma and dissociation, Earth-based spirituality
This album was released the same year I had my big dissociative break as an infant in which I left my body, turned my back on my parents who had been abusing me, and spiritually grabbed onto the only truly living thing that seemed to be in sight: the gigantic Oak tree outside the window behind me.
After years of processing around it, I have come to the firm conclusion that the tree itself saved my life - that if it hadn't been there, I would have lost my soul, so to speak, and become a narcissist like my parents. But instead, it wrapped its loving arms around me and I found God. I had dissociated, but I was still one at the core.
And now, because of it, I get to enjoy beautiful tree music like this.
