Tw: Anxiety, severe panic attack, passing out, unconsciousness, party environment
Whumpee knew they were gonna be uncomfortable at this party. Their heart rate sped up so fast when they walked in the door of Friend’s place. Whumpee being Introverted was an understatement.
The whole night, they followed Caretaker around like a lost child. They should’ve told them they were uncomfortable. They should’ve told them they wanted to go home. Caretaker would understand, right? But Caretaker had done so much for Whumpee… this was sincerely the least they could do.
Really, Whumpee thought, they could’ve done something else…
“Hey, you okay?” Caretaker asked at one point when they noticed Whumpee was severely pale.
“Y-Yeah, yeah… I’m okay. It’s just bright in here.” Whumpee shrugged it off.
Caretaker opened their mouth to say something, but they were cut off by a friend barging over to say hello. Whumpee’s heart beat increased in speed and they held their breath for a moment, waiting for the friend to go away.
“Woah, Caretaker? I haven’t seen you in forever!” Another friend exclaimed, two people following them.
Whumpee breathed again, but not normally. They slowly started hyperventilating. They played with their hands and tried to distract themselves from the people in front of them. Anti-social was not the correct word to describe Whumpee right now.
They tapped Caretaker’s shoulder, again and again, but it did nothing. Friends kept coming over to say hello, until Whumpee was sure the entire party had been drawn to them. Whumpee held their chest, tapping Caretaker on the shoulder again. Their head hurt from all the music and noises, they couldn’t breathe, they felt like they were going to have a heart attack, the room was spinning…
They briefly felt Caretaker grab their hand. “Whumpee?” Their voice echoed, “Are you okay?”
Whumpee was very much not okay. They were freaking the fuck out and knew they were going to faint. They grabbed Caretaker’s arm with such strength Whumpee was afraid they might’ve bruised them.
“Whumpee?” Caretaker said, their voice filled with concern.
“I-I don’t feel… okay…” Whumpee coughed. They leaned onto Caretaker too hard. They fell into them.
Caretaker tried to catch them when they fell. The people around them stopped what they were doing, their faces filled with concern.
“Whumpee? Whumpee?!” They panicked as they tried to gently lower Whumpee to the ground without hurting them.
Whumpee lost their balance and their consciousness with it. The music and noise faded out so fast, it was almost perfectly cut. They faintly heard Caretaker’s voice coax their name before their anxiety and darkness consumed them. It was certainly a lot calmer than the party they were at.
