Heyy! How are you? I was wondering if you still have a link or something of the carnival recipes you shared the other day? I forgot to check the Instagram stories that day and didn’t save them :(
Ciao! I'm good thank you, and you?
I forgot to add them to the highlighten stories, but now I have so if you want to, you can check them again on my Instagram! If not, you can take a look at @/fattoincasadabenedetta (still on Instagram) : she's pretty famous in Italy, she has written a few books, has a youtube channel (under the same name) and also appears on TV to show some easy and very typical recipes from our country (but in particular from her area, in central Italy). She had an hotel with her family so she knows pretty well about recipes.
This is from her website, another typical sweet's recipe for Carnevale: the famous chiacchiere of frappe or bugie. It's the same sweet but we call it in different ways according on the area we live in. Tbh there are even more different ways to call them according on different cities haha e.g. in Piemonte we call them "bugie", but this is especially true in Torino's area. If you move to Alessandria the name changes in Gasse, while in Vercelli and Novara (similarly to Lombardia) it's Gale* -as to mean "ribbons", from their shape. this is valid also for Alessandria's name-. In Aosta Valley it's Merveilles. In the North West and part of Emilia they're called generally "chiacchiere", while in the central/southern part of Italy they're called "frappe". Again there are more variations according to cities as I explained for Piemonte, forgive me if I am not going too much in detail.
*Gale not as in English ofc (I suddenly got reminded about a surname LOL): the pronunciation is g-ah-l-eh
