Peter is poor, that's a fact. He found his costume in the garbage, getting a new backpack was a burden, and based on the weird stares he got, the subway wasn't screaming that he was privileged either. Tony is and always has been rich. Regardless of how terrible his father was, cold and calculating, at least he was stable. He didn't realize just how big their cultural gap was. He finds Peter at night in the kitchen. He's not eating, not drinking, not cooking or baking, just looking. His brown eyes dart around the cupboards, checking to see all the food there. He turned on the water, let it run for a few seconds, and turned it off. After that night, Tony kept the kitchen completely full. Peter still snuck down at night to check, but it wasn't as anxious and tense as before.

One time, Peter got hurt in the workshop. He cursed quietly, wrapping his hand in a rag. He wasn't in too much danger, but he definitely needed stitches. "Shit, you alright?" Tony grabbed his hand, poking and twisting, trying to estimate the damage. "Yeah, that's gonna need a few stitches. C'mon, let's get you to the hospital. There's one right down the road." "No! Do you know how much money that'd be, Mr. Stark? I'm fine, I can just do it at home." Tony was horrified at the thought of Peter sewing up his own torn flesh. "No! No, not happening! I'll pay—" "I can't ask you to do that—" "You're not asking, I'm offering! I'll make the money back by the time we get to the damn car."

Sometimes, Tony takes him to high-class places. Maybe for dinner, maybe for an errand. Peter's looking over his shoulder constantly, gripping his bag tight, hiding his hood. "Chill, kid, this isn't—" This isn't the rundowns. But Peter was from the rundowns. His fists clenched subconsciously at the thought of Peter getting mugged, someone trying to rob or shoot at him, steal his backpack that had a million holes in it, etc. "Just.. chill, okay?" Tony doesn't notice the looks Peter gets in those places, but Peter does. Peter notices the way they all think he's going to steal something. He notices the tight lips and smiles that don't reach their eyes. He notices the way they look afraid to touch him, like he carries a disease. "Can we.. Can I stay home next time?" Peter asks, his voice quiet. "Why? Don't wanna hang out with your," he clears his throat obnoxiously. "Bes' fwend?" Peter laughs, shaking his head. "Never do that again." The next time they go, he notices. Tony notices the looks, the tight lips and smiles that don't reach their eyes, the whispers and clutched pearls, and he isn't afraid to call them out for it.

Peter comes into the lab, eyes red, hands sweaty. "Mr. Stark?" he asks through a broken voice. "Yes, kid? What— Woah, what happened?" Peter fidgets with the envelope in his hand, sniffling. He takes a deep breath. The simple motion does nothing to nullify the shaky voice. "I wouldn't ask if I didn't have to, I swear. I'm not taking advantage of you or- or anything," Peter mumbles. Tony already knows what he's going to ask. Although, he didn't think the reason why would be so daunting. "I'll pay you back as soon as I can, but May can't pick up another shift, and I can't—" "Kid, calm down. What do you need money for and how much?" "Rent. I know it's a lot of money, so you don't have to, but I—" Tony cut him off. He stood, retrieving his wallet. He "And what? Let you and your aunt get evicted? No, it's fine. Just tell me how much it is." ".. Two thousand- five hundred." Tony nodded, trying to come off casual, not wanting to add guilt or pressure Peter at all. "Two... Seven... Ah! There we go, here." Peter bowed his head gratefully, thanking him. "And underoos?" Peter hummed. "Don't be afraid to ask for something like that again, alright? I don't want either of you on the streets, starving, or some other horror, okay?" "Okay, Mr. Stark. Thank you."

Listen, the Louvre being broken into is devastating, but as an American, it's such a relief to hear news from a different country that's not the make or break of human rights for once.

Storytime with Parli! ♥

So tonight, I was at the grocery store. I had just grabbed a shopping cart, walked beyond the security gate and entered the retail floor all while talking on the phone to my mom. It's been snowing, so I have one of my hoodies on. It's an older jacket so the hoodie pocket is torn wide open, but I still use the damn thing because it's very warm since it has fleece stitched into the inner lining.

So I look like an excellent mark, right? I'm this tiny little lady, (5'1"!) that has just walked into a busy, overstimulating grocery store while the rest of my attention is being stolen by talking on the phone with my mom. Even better is I'm wearing my fucked up hoodie and my wallet is kind of sticking out of my hoodie pocket. It's practically daring to fall out of my jacket, or better yet, be straight-up stolen right off of my person.

As I'm walking further into the store, talking to my mom, from out of nowhere, I suddenly feel this presence practically engulf me from behind. The hairs on my neck were standing at attention, and before I can turn around and bark at the person who was invading my personal space, I feel his hand reaching into my hoodie pocket.

This motherfucker, who came out of virtually fucking nowhere, attempted to pickpocket me. I say "attempted" to, because he failed to take my wallet off my person, but the motherfucker absolutely took my knuckles to his teeth!

My mom said she heard a lot of muffling over the phone at this point. She said she heard me suddenly sound like I was standing far away from the phone, and bark "excuse me!!" in a really mad voice, before she heard a whompf! sound. I'm gonna be honest, I don't know where the hell this asshole came from, because I have zero memory of him coming into the store behind me, at least nobody followed me through the front doors from the parking lot. At first he wasn't there, and then suddenly he was.

I hit him pretty fucking good. I know I caught him in the mouth, because when I reeled my hand back, my knuckle was bleeding and I think I caught him in the teeth when I felt him reach into my pocket. Unfortunately, the jackass ran off, and by the time I got to talk to the cops, we were all sure there was no way he would get caught tonight. The police let me take some toilet paper from the grocery store bathroom and hold it against the cut on my hand while they took my statement. I gave them my information and they let me continue grocery shopping when the decided that they would talk to the store manager and see if they could get access to the security cameras and the footage that was recorded. They told me they'd call me if they needed anything else from me or if they found the guy or whatever.

So, once I was free to go, I finished my shopping, got home, cleaned up and bandaged my hand, put my groceries away and like the chronically-online piece of shit that I am, I got onto Discord and vented the story to my buddies in one of the private servers I run.

The following discussion was just too good for me not to share. It definitely put a smile on my face after the shitty evening I had. Oh, and no. Nothing was stolen from me, thank goodness! I caught the little bastard just in time! ♥

𖦹 after you texted draken you made sure to keep texting him little phrases and emojis so he knew you were ok and also did what he told you and sat there as silent as you could

𖦹 “Tell your parents you’re staying with me.. I’m not leaving you alone like this” he said

𖦹 You could see tears threatening to spill from his eyes

𖦹 you had already suspected who it was and when you looked out the window you’re eyes grew wide

𖦹 not only was it mitsuya and the boys of Toman outside,, but it was a bunch of other boys who look to be in different gangs too

𖦹 “BABE!” You heard mitsuya yell. You looked at him to let him know you heard him

𖦹 “JUMP! COME ON!” he yelled again.

𖦹 you weren’t sure how he got here so fast or where they got the gigantic sheets they were holding for you all to jump in but there wasn’t time to think about that now

𖦹 without a second thought or listening to the screams of the people behind you, you threw your bag out the window then climb through and jumped

𖦹 you landed on the sheet and felt yourself bounce up on the impact

𖦹 “ARE YOU OKAY?!” “HOW DO YOU FEEL Y/N?!” “Are you in pain?!”

𖦹 these questions came flying at you and you just smiled and nodded

𖦹 Mitsuya dropped his part of the sheet and grabbed you and hugged you tightly

𖦹 you hugged him back just as tightly and you could feel a wetness on your back

𖦹 “babe please don’t cry I’m ok I’m fine ok I’m right here..”

𖦹 “I’m fine I promise let’s help the other people get out ok”

“ok..”

𖦹 yeah.. you were ok now.. and that’s all that mattered to him
