one of the craziest things to me about post-s5/7 samifer fics is how a lot of them just don't mention what happened in the cage at all. like hm i mean i guess that's one way to get around the little issue of centuries of torture? just uh don't mention it? at all? and it's not even "lucifer didn't actually hurt sam in the cage" it's "this may or may not have happened but who says we have to think about it?" and that lack of acknowledgement is just wild to me
