So I binged TUA and I didn’t want to write anything about it, but I changed my mind. I know there are fics with Stiles being able to see ghosts, but give me Klaus level of fucked up ghost powers and that Steter/Stetopher/Sterek lovin’. Gimme that ouiji boy “Hello” “Good Bye” hands.
Claudia was teaching Stiles how to understand and control his powers when she got sick. He’s only 9 and the voices are too much, but he pretends to be fine so his dad doesn’t know. When he’s 17 his dad dies and there’s nothing holding him back. Stiles is popping pills to get through classes on the weekdays and in a drunken mess on the weekends. He gets partnered up with Cora/Allison for a class assignment and so they decide to use her house to do the project, because y’know he’s basically just sleeping out of his Jeep at this point.
That’s where he meets them. All the Hale spirits standing guard around the house and when they see that Stiles can see them they just let loose; begging and screaming for help, their hands are reaching out for him and leaving cold spots in their wake. There are kids with burns covering their exposed skin and they’re crying while reaching out for him. He pops another pill to dull them out, but he doesn’t take take another since he has to drive later (safety first kids). Peter’s the one who notices Stiles little “quirks” first: the way Stiles’ eyes flicker around a room and will land on something that isn’t there, the way he avoids walking in certain areas in the room, and the one sided conversations that he seems to always be in. Derek is a deputy who ends up arresting him on drunk and disorderly. Cora ends up becoming his living friend and shoulder to lean on.
In Stetopher Chris is the one who figures out what Stiles is with Peter’s helpful suggestions of his own with Allison becoming his friend.
And Scott can be his Ben, or not. It doesn’t matter tbh.
Peter: is something burning?
Stiles: just my love for you
Peter:stiles, the toaster is on FIRE—
Stiles goes to Purgatory to bring Peter back, but it’s Stiles shitty luck that means he runs into the Nogitsune who still has his face on. He’s just stuck there, staring at the image of him and not being able to move. It feels like the world is closing in on him at the same time that the ground has just been ripped away from him.
Instead of Stiles saving Peter it’s Peter who shows up and saves Stiles. It’s actually pretty easy with the Nogitsune focusing on the human, on the only way out of here. Peter just keeps his steps light as he makes his way behind the pair and uses his pretty, little claws to tear the demon’s throat out.
It’s only when they are back in Beacon Hills that Stiles breaks down. He saw it. The Nogistune was alive and right in front of him. How can he be sure that it didn’t hitch a ride inside of his head again? How can he be sure that when he goes to sleep he won’t be taken for a joyride and kill more people? That’s when Peter shows up, easily sliding in through the bedroom window, and sitting beside the panicking lump on the bed.
He keeps his touch gentle as he pets Stiles’ through the blanket and when he talks it’s a barely there whisper. He talks about his time in Purgatory and the only thing that kept him going was knowing that Stiles would find a way to get him out; that only Stiles would be stupid enough to make Peter defy death a second time.
Then he makes a promise to keep Stiles safe, not from other creatures but from himself. He’ll stay and make sure that Stiles is the only one inside his mind.
Peter isn’t down for the whole “emotions” thing, but on the anniversary of Claudia’s death he doesn’t give Stiles the opportunity to feel alone. Peter would scoop Stiles up in his arms and stretch out on the couch, Stiles trying to press himself even closer, and just talks (“You love the sound of your own voice,” Stiles laughed as Peter told an exaggerated story from his past). He talks until Stiles relaxes in his arms and his breathing evens out. He talks, to drive Stiles’ nightmares away, until his voice gets hoarse and all he can do is tighten his hold on the smaller body.
