This is an old drawing I had of Mari when I was first making The Clear Out Au :)
Here she’s around 16, and she’s definitely in a better mental state about her leg than she ever was before ^^ and her stitching has all healed up to where she’s able to get a prosthetic fitted for her leg! :D

alastor shifted. he awakened with a start. then he roared. there was rubble laying around his head. the better part of a floor foundation was pressing down stop him and obscured his view of the lower half of his body. the pain was impossible to ignore. he tried to push it off to no avail. then he tried to lift it enough to slip through, but it was all in vain. another bellow of pain was the only thing he could manage. he felt tired and weak. he had definitely been here too long. his wand was nowhere in sight. this was bad.
The case was supposed to be simple. They were supposed to go in and arrest a guy who had been making threats of possible bombing. Connor had decided that this was nothing more than terroristic threats and they would probably walk in and do this without a hitch. That is, until they actually got into the house. All the lights were off, causing the LED on his temple to lazily spin yellow. Hank was moving in behind him along with a few other officers. Connor moved about the home slowly, silently, analyzing everything he could before moving toward one of the back bedrooms. That’s when he seemed to finally pick up on something strange with all the information he had gathered. The different things he had found around the house were all possible components to making a homemade bomb.
Slowly, dark brown eyes landed on the almost closed bedroom door, running everything through his mind about what might happen if he stepped through it. A quick look over his shoulder had him turning to look at Hank as he and another officer started down the hall behind him. So, the android moved first, slowly pushing the door open to see the man standing in the middle of the room, an expressionless look on his face as he met the android’s eyes. “Mr. Jones, I’m going to need to see you hands. You’re under arrest.” He started, watching as the man slowly raised his hands, catching sight of something in one of them. It didn’t take him more than a millisecond to process what he held, causing his LED to instantly flash red.
“Bomb!” He cried, turning to look down the hall, watching as Hank and the other human officer scurried back down the hall. Connor didn’t get enough time to get out of the room as the explosion went off behind him, a sudden roar of fire and debris engulfing him before everything goes dark.
It’s hours before Connor is even processing what’s going on around him again. His eyes flutter open as he comes to.. One of his eyes must have been knocked out of place as he could only see through one eye. Someone was holding him, lifting him up from the debris that surrounded him. His ears were ringing, making everything sound staticky and distorted. “We found him, Lieutenant!” Someone shouted as Connor was pulled from the smoldering debris. He couldn’t hear them though, just watch as their mouths moved, talking to someone off to the side. If the had the energy, Connor would try to see who it was but, errors and warnings flashed across his vision, giving him read outs of what all was wrong with him. His body has taken substantial amounts of damage, his thirium levels were low, apparently he’s even lost part of one of his arms in the blast, the biocomponent that helped him hear was broken and he was missing an eye. Perfect.
Suddenly, his vision was going out completely. No. He was closing his eye. He was still being carried away from the scene though which he guessed was a good thing as that meant he was going to get help. So, he slowly fell into a forced standby, knowing that he would need the rest as he was probably going to be chewed out by everyone that knew him. Just what he needed.
Little Clear Out AU Mari with her cast off and with her forearm crutches ;w; she… doesn’t look to be doing too good…
(Btw- that little bit of leg that’s still left- according to what I’ve heard from actual people who are amputee’s, all that is, is just leftover skin and muscle. It’s the back of her calf stitched and sewn over the front ^^; so it’s just a limp nub of muscle really and then the stitching over her knee cap is where she got her knee joint replacement)
Does Mari get a cool prosthetic leg in your Clear Out AU? Because she deserves it after saving herself and her brother.
Ofc she gets one- although it’s thanks to Klaus and Del she’s able to get one in the first place 👀; that stuff ain’t fuckin’ cheap! Even in the late 90s- early 2000s.
Today, all the stuff needed for a leg + plus the leg itself can cost up to $70,000 dollars?! For the sake of time period, I brought that down to what would be the equivalent of that in 1999 but it’s still almost 40 grand!
But luckily the two men have insurance, Del comes from a very wealthy family and Mari’s able to not only get a leg and running blade, but her leg has a purple tint to it with sparkles ;w; that being curtesy of her Grandparents on Del’s side :D
Here are some old sketches I was messing around with a while ago. I’ve had this AU for, around a couple months now I think. Just chose now to make it public lol ^^;
