It was meant to be a surprise. As far as Seth knew, Alecta was coming home on Sunday and not today. She wanted it to be this big thing, but she also wanted to be sure she was clear minded. The woods were always her go to, and it was no different as she tried to be as unseen as possible. Parking near the trails, she took off down one that was familiar. Then she deviated past the path. She had been out here several times, but this time running into someone proved a little more threatening. The face was familiar, but she hadn’t had a name to go with it. Some hunter who had been there that time before when she was shot by the one for feeding out there.
Alecta tried to back up a step and go before they noticed, but that wasn’t happening. A branch snapped underfoot and caught his attention. She held up her hands, telling him she didn’t mean any harm. As if he would believe things were different right? She still tried to reason with him, but the guy clearly remembered from last time. He wasn’t taking any chances as he raised his gun and fired without warning. She was only lucky that he had missed her heart, but he did hit her close to it. A second met her stomach, and reminded her of the time before. Just because it wasn’t deadly and would heal, didn’t mean it didn’t hurt “Please, stop! I’m not going to hurt anyone.” Blue hues looked at him desperately, her hands trying to cover the wounds as she hunched over. He didn’t care though. He raised the gun again.
Because the evaluation required volunteer and, or community service, Hyo-jin ended up in the hospital thanks to her medical degree. She was easily greeted back, considering she had worked in Ansan hospital before, it felt a lot like home to her. She missed seeing so many coworkers at the same place. It brought joy to her.
It wasn’t that late, her shift wasn’t going to finish until later that way, in just an hour and a half more. But Elly felt like she had the energy in the world to do this job, it brought so much joy to her, her energy levels were going through the roof.
She was only on patrol duty at the moment. Walking around the Emergency room, hands tucked inside the white pockets of the doctor’s cloak, shoes clacking lightly against the white floor. It was as busy as usual in the department, yet it didn’t bother her. If anyone needed help, they would have called her, the hospital phone tucked in her jean’s belt loops. This was probably the happiest people had seen her lately.
Minsoo had stuck with her, almost all of the time, and now she was alone. The male had gone to finish some other business, while she was left to do her job. The coaches that were with them had split up, one keeping and eye on the other rapper, and Mr Byeon was stuck with her. It was pretty much a task to keep up with her, as she was called to some many places, running up and down the building while trying to find the correct people to drag with her. However, Ansan was good with organizing things, and Elly had always liked it.
Her father was nowhere to be found, and at some point, the rapper was pretty happy with it. She was happy that she didn’t have to see that face for a while more. She didn’t want to see him either way, because from what she was told by coworkers, her mother, was pretty much always by his side when she didn’t have a case to work on. Lucky her, famous parents.
Her train of thought was cut off by a loud crash not so far away from her. The noise didn’t catch her by surprise, but the yelling and screaming sure did. Without a second thought, she headed that way.
Turning around the corner, there was a man, probably about the size of Mr. Byeon, but definitely better build. He seemed angry, definitely angry and intoxicated. There were people watching and a nurse was trying to get everything in control, but the man pushed another bed over, causing the same loud crashing sound to follow.
If one thing Elly hated about this job was, that there were never enough male staff when they needed them. No guards to be seen either. Fucking loving this job.
“Hyo-jin, don’t you dare. Leave the nurse to it.” Mr Byeon spoke , walking after her with the same speed. The only thing he got from the female was a confused look. It wasn’t the first time she had been in a similar situation, and it probably would not be the last. So the blonde turned around and continued her walk.
“Sir!” the rapper headed over, catching the guy’s attention. Elly heard yet again, her coach hissing something, asking for guards and such. As soon as he turned around to look at her, the blonde knew her was drunk beyond his right senses. His pupils were blown, his breathing was uneven. Maybe even drugs.
“Sir, I have to ask you to sit down. We’re just here to help.” if one thing Hyo-jin had learned from situations like these before, was always have your arms close to your body. Fast movements might trigger aggression and what not. The situation seemed under control, as she heard the said nurse, nurse Min, from before calling the security.
“Who the fuck do you think you are, you midget?” oh wow, ain’t that creative, the trainee thought as she continued to walk towards the man.
“I’m a doctor. I want to help you. You’ve hit your head, you need to sit down, sir.” she wasn’t planning on having this. She was within an arm’s reach and slowly, as if she was trying to reach out for a beast, Elly raised her hand.
The next thing ended up as a blur, but she felt the shock going over her body. Her eyes caught a gun, then the man coming at her. Screams, she could hear so many people scream and when her body collided with the wall, her own followed. It was indeed painful to have someone twice your size slam you with his own body weight against the hard surface, head hitting first.
The next few minutes were a complete blur, her head hurt, she felt something hit her ribs, the taste of blood come in soon. The handle of the pistol connected with her lip, fuck, she might have a fracture. Opening her eyes every now and then, Hyo-jin caught a glimpse of some of the male patients, including her coach, trying to get the guy off her. A final punch in the gut however was all that took to get her to crumble, the air eyes squeezing shut as her legs gave, causing her to drop to the ground when the attacker was pulled off her by the guards.
There was more yelling and screaming, but Elly was too busy catching her breath to pay attention to her surroundings.
“Fucking hell..” she spat, blood dripping from her mouth pushing herself up into a semi sitting position. Opening her eyes only caused her a headache as the bright lights became unbearable. There were other medics sitting around her, asking her questions and calling for a bed to get ready for her.
A hand quickly pushed against her ribs, moving up and down a few times, from side to side to make sure she was in one piece. Her body felt normal, excluding the multiple bruises she would have the next day and maybe, just maybe, she had bruised ribs. Definitely had bruised ribs, because the tad more pressure added against the bottom right side caused her to jerk away.
“It was brave, but stupid.”
Elly heard someone say, yet she laughed liked her bloody lips before wiping them with her white sleeve.
“Could be worse.”
“Most likely dead.”
“Well, he is definitely going to prison.”
“You are so in trouble after this young lady.” Probably everyone heard the death thread coming from MR Byeon’s lips, yet it didn’t affect Elly.
She laughed at the casual conversations her co-workers were having, her coaches words pretty funny in her ears, but it turned into loud coughing and everyone got to do their jobs this time. Picking her up and helping her sit down on one of the wheeled beds, they dragged her away, leaving the nurses to take care of the scared patients.
10:12pm;
She was allowed to leave the hospital, patched up and with prescriptions for medicine. However, she was not allowed to drive, and Mr Byeon, who had been lecturing her throughout the whole examination in the hospital. He had made up his mind. Hyo-jin was being taken back to the Royal building to which they would have their own professional examine her.
So that is how Elly was stuck in the car on her way to the entertainment comapny, her coach driving and.
“How are the ribs?”he asked the most dry way he could have.
“Been better.” Elly laughed, causing another cough to leave her, followed by a small whimper.
“I swear, this does not only affect you. It affects me as well” Mr Byeo sighed as he took a few more turns and eventually parked inside the Royal building.
“I know you have your medical degree, specifically for this job, but please... You’re training to be an idol now. Your safety is above other’s, even in such situations.” He said as he opened the door for the female trainee, helping her out.
“I understand sir.”
“Good, now come on, So-jung is waiting for us. Then we can call it a day.”
