8x11 - Disappointed, but not giving up

Sooo we get the promo clip. Nothing new. I shouldn’t have for my hopes up.

However... we have not seen the “winning means we get tonight, and after that, no guarantees” scene so that gives me hope that Carol may be talking to Daryl there.

Also, he had his arm around her, and they are together again. Who knows what will happen?

If all else fails, I have my fan fiction...

okay   so  .      i   got   spoilers   for   8b   of   walking   dead  .      this   is   a   masterclass   on   how   to   completely   detach   your   characters   from   anything   that   defines   who   they   are   &   what   they   fight   for  .      &   anyway  ,      i   won’t   be   watching   that   anymore  .      i’m   not   someone   who   says   that   lightly  .      nor   do   i   think   it   will   have   impact  ,      but   if   you   know   how   much   that   show   once   meant   to   me   you’ll   understand   how   much   it   hurts  .

8x12 Review

I am getting so sick and tired of TWD now. The episode had such potential.

Daryl and Rick moment? Check

Badass woman moment? Check

Team Family making decisions? Check

One person was missing though. One person who should have been there for all of these moments, but has somehow been forgotten about by the writers.

Carol, who single handedly destroyed Terminus. Carol, who single handedly saved Alexandria from the wolves. Carol, who saved Maggie and destroyed the Saviors at the outpost. The woman who is not only intelligent, brave and compassionate but is a badass warrior who lights up our screens every time she appears on it.

The audience loves watching her and the actors love working with her. So why cut her out? Why bother bringing her to the Hilltop if she’s not even going to interact with anyone other than Morgan?

She’s known Rick since Atlanta and she knows what it’s like to lose a child. Why was she not there comforting him?

She wants to stop the war and is arguably the best female fighter. Why was she not with the other women investigating the new group?

She and Daryl have the closest bond on the show yet they’ve had no interaction since New Best Friends. I’m sorry, a little “be careful” hug does not cut it. They need to know what went down in their respective communities and how they are feeling.

I am sick of seeing screen time hogged by irritating Negan and Simon. We get it, they say stupid stuff, they wanna be in charge, move on. We don’t need to see the same old stuff for half of each episode.

I am sick of seeing screen time hogged by pointless extra characters. Oceanside? Pointless! The Scavengers? Pointless! This random new group popping up when it’s meant to be all about the action? Pointless!

Jadis, Simon and Enid have all had more screen time than Carol and I’ve had enough of it. With Carl and (most likely) Morgan and Maggie gone, we’ll need to see more of our original, interesting characters that we know and love. Let’s have more focus on Carol interacting with Daryl, Rick and Michonne. Let’s develop these characters. I hate to sound like Trump, but it’s time to make The Walking Dead great again.
