The Walking Dead 7x10 - New Best Friends
Listen, I was a little unimpressed with TWD lately and so I didn’t have the will to talk it out. But I think episodes 9 and 10 were all right, not great, necessarily but kind of pointing in the right direction? stuff and thangs were happening, badasses were being badasses, etc.
Now, I’m hating what they’re doing with Rosita, wtf. I get it, she’s grieving, she’s pissed off, but she’s never before shown signs of being this dense and unstable. So I’m sorry if I think is lazy writing using her as prop/plot device sacrifice. What the walkers and all the horrible people we’ve seen are not enough antagonists? we need idiocy from within? Give me a break.
I like the twist of Gabriel becoming a guy with common sense. See? He stopped being an idiot., because we’ve got enough of those already.
I’m a little annoyed by King Ezekiel and Morgan and they’re all peace policy. I get it, we don’t have to lose all empathy, and we don’t have to become monsters because then what will set us apart from people like Negan, ok. But come on, one thing is to be the best guy possible, to seek peace and another is to turn your back on reality. You know, the “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”.
The kingdom does seem like a nice community, I like that they don’t make people feel like the owe them and that they give freedom for people to leave if they want to, no questions asked.
I still loving they didn’t forget about Maggie and Sasha’s friendship. I appreciate it. Even though they seem to have forgotten all about Maggie and Tara’s friendship. I also love that the people of the Hilltop are all turning to Maggie as leader. Suck on that Gregory, you prick.
I feel like there was something behind the whole “my sister had that same dress”, bit, but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ok, Richard, I’m with you, believe me, but my dude, chill. How dare you try to sacrifice Carol, and try to use Daryl to do it? You high? And if you start going down that road, are you really that different? Of course, he should be pissed with Ezekiel what even with him letting the Saviours get away with everything.
These garbage people are all cool and everything, but they seemed a little touched in the head to me. Maybe a tad disconnected. But perhaps that’d be good for the cause.
I seriously do not get the lying to Carol thing we’ve got going on. I get it, she’s a little unstable and charged with guilt and depressed maybe, and traumatized by all the dead. I get that, I can forgive her for wanting a timeout, I do. But she’s asking, why would you lie to her? To protect her? By lying? What, you’re expecting she lives like a hermit for the rest of her life and never finds out, or maybe she’ll die before she notices? I mean, I’m sorry, I get all the gallant impulses of the manly men trying to keep her bubbled up, but she’s a grown super badass woman who could destroy them all in one go. Fuck that.
I bet she’ll find out by accident just a the perfect time to step in a save everyone else.
I’m going to be pissed if Tara feels forced to tell on the secret amazonian society by the sea. She promised the girl, I know they’re going to do it, because it’s been foreshadowed a lot. But I’m still going to be upset about it. I get it, they’ll join in the fight and get revenge for all their fallen males, but it’ll be because Tara will feel forced to betray the girl, and the girl is probably going to die then, or maybe her mother... *sigh*
So, Rosita, Morgan and Ezekiel better get their heads out of their butts by next week, because it’s seriously getting annoying.
I don’t understand why people acting like Maggie is suddenly “capable” and Carol is THE bad ass of the two, when Maggie been doing the damn thing since season 2/3, way before Carol was setting people on fire and blowing people up. When they kidnapped, people made it seem like Maggie was the weaker of the two and not because of her pregnancy. Maggie’s killed before. She was probably one of the best shots on the show to the point people thought she would be the sniper after Andrea’s death. I love Carol, but don’t understand why people are acting brand new when it comes to Maggie?...
