What sort of bonding would you like to see between Ben and Alex? Aside from working on the Engine, I mean? Do you think Alex will still be closed off or will she finally start to trust her Mom's people? Will Ben be as fond of her stubbornness as he was of Mel's? They have both lost Melanie, and could probably both benefit from sharing memories and talking about how much she meant to them, but do you think Alex still harbors some resentment that Ben got to have Melanie for those seven years that Alex was in Wilford-hell on Big Alice? Or even that he told her not to give up hope because Melanie's 'a survivor'? Do you think it's painful for Ben to see similarities of Mel in Alex? Does he still feel guilty about leaving her behind at Departure? Do you think they'll hug in season 3?
...I hate Ben, I just don't care for him at all especially with his "thing" with Mel, it doesn't make sense because well they are having her sleep with the man who wouldn't let her make sure her child was safe and onboard the train, listen I get it, it was "saving humanity" and all in the moment but a mother's love for her child is more important than anything else in the world. And he wouldn't even let her make sure her kid is alright and he forced her to leave Alex behind. So if anything it's Ben's fault.
And she doesn't even love him, she's only using him for "stress relief" and they have no chemistry, he doesn't show emotions. And wtf was his reaction when she went on top of the train in 1x10 he actually seemed worried from what I remember but in 2x03? It's like he didn't even care that Mel was going to be gone for a month!.... outside!....where she could die!
Okay so back to your question:
I don't want them (Alex and twig boy but they probably will) to bond over anything to do with Mel or anything that relates to Mel, and plus I think Alex probably does not want to hear from Ben about her mother because she is probably is trying her best to not accept (or maybe she has) that Mel is dead.
No I don't want them to hug, unless it is absolutely necessary (which is most likely isn't) for them to "bond". And no he better not hug her unless Alex wants that but I highly doubt it.
So I don't care if he dies cause his betrayal of Mel and the train, and yeah

P.s Alex will probably not like him already cuz yes he got her for 7 years and the poor kid didn't. Alex should just bond with Bess, Josie, Layton and that makes sense and that would be pretty damn cute🥺
