Twilight Time In The Theatre
Last night I had brought Twilight 2000 (the original edition) with me to the theatre to read up in the tech booth as I waited for the show to begin. It had been a long, long while since I had run a session of it and I figured I’d give it a read through. Since, I’m thinking of a game (or two) to run at Cangames in 2016. In a couple of months the call for GM submissions will be sent out and I’m narrowing down my options before then.
It seems I go through this process every year, though I like to run a game that I like but never get a chance to run it. So, Cangames is the perfect venue to run old games and I generally have a blast doing so.
Last night, I happen to grab Twilight 2000 off the shelf as I was looking for a game to bring with me. Like I said it’s been a long, long time since I had ran a session of it and wanted to re-familiarize myself with the concept and the gaming mechanics. I never had a chance to run the “Polish Campaign” a proper series of adventures for this game which starts with the introductory adventure in the box set; Escape from Kalisz, than moves onto Free City of Krakow, Pirates of the Vistula, The Ruins of Warsaw, The Black Madonna, and ending up in Going Home.
For some reason the players manage to get themselves killed in Pirates of the Vistual or in The Ruins of Warsaw that’s about as far as I get. Then they want to continue on playing in a fantasy campaign after the tpk (which I think they wanted to do in the first place to get back into playing a fantasy game methinks!). Oh well, at least they gave Twilight 2000 a whirl.
