There's still no azaleas at the Azalea State Natural Reserve, but I found a few other blooms. All of the above are twinberry honeysuckle (Lonicera involucrata). Check the blog post for more.

Yeah no a lot of literature of the time in europe was most likely destroyed because this was the height of Muslim influence in Europe and the height of discomfort with the Church up until the Reformations so a lot of historians think the Catholic Church just sorta... swept it all into the fire and rewrote literature to say that the whole time period was just HORRIBLE
