Flashback Friday ~

An old hard copy interview in Minnesota Monthly magazine about the origins of my work and the philosophy behind it, October 2015 issue. Special thanks to author Quinton Skinner for his thoughtful questions, and to photographer David Bowman for his talented eye. Excerpt below

“The concept of what is respectful is completely relative to cultures and individuals. There are certain expectations to conform to standards, but there should be room for unorthodox ways of honoring or paying tribute. I’ve always had a need to have a tangible physical part of my pets after they died. That’s a deep human need and desire across cultures, to keep a memento, either animal or human.”

Twin Cities Collage Collective

Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA. The Twin Cities Collage Collective, like most everything else, has put all of their activities on hold. Collective co-founder, Ben DiNino, writes “It's sad since we were just coming into our own. We were looking forward to World Collage Day and the exhibition of all the work we have been receiving.” Instead of an in-person exhibition, they put together an online exhibit that you can view on their website. Once people are able to start meeting in groups again, the collective is optimistic that they will still go forward with a number of collage based classes through the local library system that were meant to start in April.
