Twin Guns, a band I’m friendly with, played at Niagara. There’s really no other band like them; they distill the most appealingly dark elements of The Jesus and Mary Chain (though Twin Guns’ sound is more streamlined) and Sisters of Mercy (though Twin Guns are free of goth posturing) while blazing a sonic trail of their own.
Consisting of Andrea Sicco on guitar and vocals (he uses a vintage mic, very cool), Jim Chandler on drums (he played drums for The Cramps — need I say more?) and new bassist Kristin Fayne-Mulroy who is strikingly beautiful, Twin Guns played to a packed room at Niagara and sounded great. There’s something very enveloping and cinematic about their sound, a supreme noir twang that’s grippingly atmospheric. Go see them next time they play. - Robin Eisgrau, Focus and Temper
