The Editor's Holyday Letter - It is time to slow down.
At Twissst, we are about to start a journey around the Globe.
I am moving to Portugal, this time to the south, to my family country house, and i will share this trip with Miss Porfirio, our resident photographer…yes, she has also her family quite close to mine.
Mr Parisi, will visit Sicily and Miss Yakuza is already traveling to Tokyo.
Miss Hodgson this time will exchange London for a small town in Poland close to the border with Ukraine … the flight is to Cracow.
To Milan…Miss Chiaravallotti, and already in Turin , Miss Doná.
Miss Martins will stay in Lisbon and soon traveling to Warsaw.
…and i could keep going on, but suddenly a question came to my mind...what drives us to do such things? It's a huge effort, Tradition? Heritage?
Maybe…but i think there is much more that the eye can reach.
It is time to slow down.
Time go get back to the past, to the reality we once lived , to the roads we knew as well as the palm of our hand, to see old friends, to go to places where you once went really often, to sleep in the bedroom where you dream about how surprising life would be for you, and if your are lucky and your nephews kindly leave something left, to open those old trunks with all kind of things from your parents and grand parents, things that once were part of your life and that, most likely, are part of what we are today.
And of course…never ending family lunches and dinners!
Because no matter what your weight is…you will be always thin, ...especially in my family!
That is what Christmas is for me!
A moment of balance, a mix of happiness, joyful, but also twisted with slightly melancholic moments, when you realize that time did not stop …not even for those who you love the most.
But than… another lunch or dinner approaches, and suddenly you have no more time to be melancholic!
And i did realize that this reality is somehow the reality of most of the people that work at TWISSST.
Is this necessity to go back to the roots, those roots that are now, perhaps, very far from your daily routine, nevertheless, it's the go back to values, to the places and to the people… that made us what we are today and that drives us, ultimately…home!
We wish you a safe trip, around the globe or just crossing the street.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
