Here’s a video on two total synthesis of twistane! For those of you in sophomore organic chemistry looking for practice in total synthesis or multi-step synthesis, I think this is a great example to watch and learn from!

First thought when I saw the structure of Twistane:

OMG, it looks like a butterfly with its wings tied. Look, its wings aren't regular, it's like one half is upside down. Poor butterfly :(

Twistane is, therefore, a social outcast butterfly.
