well, i mean who hasn’t been there, am i right?

let me get this straight. in twisted lip we’ve got

isa whitney spending a lot of time in what watson refers to as ‘orgies’

a dimly lit den full of beds

the people in the den ‘lying in strange fantastic poses, bowed shoulders, bent knees, heads thrown back and chins pointing upwards’

a pile of clothes in the upstairs room, leading to the implication that their owner has obviously removed them for one reason or another

so that’s orgies, beds, what sound like sex positions, and apparently naked dudes... anyone else getting the impression that watson actually found holmes in a gay brothel and just covered it up by claiming it was an opium den?

watson just happens to find holmes in this den? holmes just happens to be staying in a double-bedded room? uh huh, sure.
