Offensive or not the turrets are still pretty lame. Even if you pick a tank that thing will shred you before you or your team have a chance to break it, all the while torbjorn can just heal it or ult.
Sometimes it’s hard, yeah, whether because the map (Hanamura point 2, Temple of Anubis point 2 in particular) or because your team isn’t cooperating & swapping heroes to fit a better comp. There’s only so much a lone person can do, but it is a team game & team effort ultimately; the amount of games I’ve lost because ppl will refuse to change heroes to better counter the enemy’s and I can’t swap because no one will play support is infuriating but just how it goes sometimes.
But they’re hardly in a position where they need to be nerfed? They’re not broken like McCree’s ‘fan the hammer->combat roll reload-> fan the hammer’ “combo” he can churn out within a few seconds. Honest to god you get a Junkrat and a good 3-4 of his grenades can take out a T2 Torb turret, but I agree there’s the matter of getting to an angle that you can actually HIT it, & that’s frustrating if no one works with you.
Symmetra’s turrets too, easy enough to take out, for a lot of offensive champs provided you can find them before they kill you. Placement is key w Symmetra’s, they’re a bit more unforgiving than Torb’s which is arguably easier to use/maintain (not that you’re suppose to very heavily protect your turret if you want to meaningfully contribute as a Torb). Torb turrets are a lot like Bastion; they’re going to SHRED new players who aren’t familiar w the counters, but even if you are familiar w counters/how to beat them, sometimes the map’s terrain will play against you and you get meme’d on.
TBH I had absolutely no sympathy for this particular team because the turret was in dead center of King’s Row first capture objective point, which is super open. There was absolutely no reason for us to have gotten as beaten as we did other than the fact that my team refused to work around what should have been a really easy target of a Torb turret...
