In the Midnight West

On the shores of my oblivion, My heart will not break, I just wanna close my eyes yet I want to stay awake,

Cause every time I close my eyes To feel that you are far behind, I see you there painted here In the void inside my mind,

The back of my eyelids When I close them tight Become a silver screen Playing memory of that night,

I remember the evening of that day your smile was for me I was shy and turned away So my heart did not see

The brilliance of your perfect face An ocean of beauty behind that stare That warm gaze of your eyes The sweet smell of your hair,

We sat in the grass together, The stars watched as we talked Tales of music and adventure, The moon lit the path as we walked

Our words danced a spoken song, Our eyes met and smiles were shared, My heart raced, for it was happy But in the end no one cared,

Cause now we’re far apart And my heart is slipping away It’s to hard to bear this burden I’ve died too many times today

For on that midnight in the west I thought we could be together, I know now it was nothing more than a boy who loved a girl who loved another,

Ode to the Abyss

Oh Oceans, your depth reaches the unfathomable fathoms below. Your eyes see what we cant, you shield the monsters from the day, at night you hide them when they play.

Oh Sea of Darkness, at dusk you send, the chill of a thousand submerged souls down the spines of the oblivious dwellers above, we can only dream the nightmares of what you hide.

Oh Oblivion, the Sun, he tried to be your friend, but you reflected his warm rays back unto our eyes. The moon, the pale beauty, she glows her smile upon your tumultuous tide, but you make your waves many and mocking.

Oh Sea of Sirens, we try with the brisk breeze of our lives to carve your paths, to sail your hair, to poison your blood. We craft gods as an explanation of your strength, we chisel stone and steel visages as pale reflections of your nature. We never knew that the soft sigh of your shoreline respiration was the defiant laugh in the face of our impossible endeavor.

Oh ocean, oh sea. Remember, remember me. When you make us all thirst. Remember, remember. I sang to you first.

I want to book someone in to be tattooed at this event that myself and Luke @luketattoo666 are working at on Sunday 26th April at the Exeter Phoenix.
