i woke up thinking of something @twistedkit wrote a long time ago (but I can’t seem to find it...)

In the winter, the ground freezes solid, and the people who live on the eightieth floor and above can finally come down from their homes in the clouds. They step out onto the thick ice, breath slender silver streams, cheeks rosy, and look around in wonder at what they’ve been missing for decades. What goes up must come down, and the skyscrapers rake at the clouds, heavy with snow, with their jagged spires.
Snow starts to fall in thick, fat flakes, and even as they watch, the bright yellow snow plows start to sputter to life, their engines rusty with disuse. They gather fat drifts of the sky in their clawed mouths, pushing them to the side, but more and more of it comes. It melts in their hair, against their cheeks, freezing into their eyelashes until all they can see is perfect ice.
She wonders if her mother’s ashes get caught up in the snow. They’ve scattered her out the window months and months ago, so long it might as well have been in another life, and she can no longer remember her face. Snowflakes melt in her hair, a cold chill to run icy rivulets down the collar of her coat, and with a shiver she turns away from the clean, clear roads that she hasn’t seen in a year.
“Not going?” someone asks her, passing her by the bank of elevators where she stands with her thumb firmly pressed to ‘Up.’ “It only comes once a year.”
“No, thanks,” she whispers, and the elevator dings open. She slips in past the group of people it discharges, and does not breathe easy until she feels the cool jolt of ascent.
Once in her apartment, cool, clean, bare, she cracks open the window. She lets the snow drift in, lets the freezing air burn her from the inside out, and tries not to think about how long it might have taken her mother’s ashes to fall.
Levi’s eyes crinkled into curved commas when he smiled, and Erwin winged a silent prayer to whatever gods might exist that he was making the right choice.

Levi’s love starts out frightened, starts out sick and scared and stunted. But Erwin takes hold of the roots of his affection and, with tender hands, shapes it so it strains toward the sun. Leaves sprout and blossoms unfurl as Levi comes to trust the soft wondrous weight of compassion.
Erwin‘s quarters slowly become littered with the detritus of being together, a neatly creased pile of cravats here, a leather strap there. Levi’s scent fills the room.
The seed becomes a sapling becomes a neatly ordered bonsai, and Levi takes his cue from Erwin‘s actions, growing every day.
My new aesthetic: eating pizza off Erwin's tiddies

for the word meme: savage.
I love the Cantonese dubs of Disney movies - despite the fact that I can’t speak/perfectly understand the language. My mother used to watch them with me all the time on bootlegged VCR tapes (I know! right??) that my grandpa bought in Hong Kong.
Her favorite movie was Pocahontas - which, of course, has a song titled “Savages” in it.
