I finally read the Mr. Boop comics on Twitter (Alec Robbins retweeted the thread because it's the anniversary of the first one); I did not expect them to actually make me feel so much better. This is the worst I've felt in a while, and something about how utterly cringe Mr. Boop is really helped me out. One thing about the pandemic that has really got me down but I haven't seen expressed much elsewhere is how humilating it has all been. I feel so guilty and embarassed and pathetic all the time. (Knowing I'm a potential disease-carrier who endangers people just by being near them must have something to do with that.) So to see someone making such an absolute idiot of himself, such an utter social and emotional failure, is fucking awesome. It's just so absurd and hilarious and stupid-smart. It feels like eating really great junk food, but instead of feeling like shit afterwards, you just feel full. Thanks, Alec. I like your thing.
