Chaos at Twitter
Right now twitter is embroiled in sprawling debates about "where to go now?" in my corner of twitter (which is full of science nerds, math people and probably communists) tumblr and mastodon are winning.
A lot of twitter people are suspicious of tumblr since it's still a company and the issue with twitter can happen to any company. I'm suspicious of mastodon because I just can't see EVERYONE I enjoy talking to getting up to speed with all that, but I'm working on setting one up. I'll post about it here once it's going. It's kind of funny since I think at some level there are people who avoid tumblr because "isn't that... you know... *for girls*?" But, I do think the point about having an open protocol is valid. Just wish more of the people who love protocols cared as much about UI and moderation.
