the first social media site i check after waking up is tumblr because i get to see people discussing plinko, eeby deeby and blorbo from my shows.

if i were to check twitter, the first thing i'd see was someone posting a 20 tweet rant about why another having a different opinion about a fictional character is toxic and should lead to their cancelling

Re: Current Events

Before you read ahead, know that this is not a post I want to write. There is no reason for this to even be a debate, but unfortunately, it is.

Show of hands: who here loves censorship? Nobody? Ok. Next question: who here loves freedom? Everybody? Well, great! Keep reading then.

Free speech is a God-given right. Free assembly is a God-given right. Freedom to petition your government for a redress of grievances is a God-given right. Freedom to choose your leaders is a right in America. And now, all of those rights are under attack. I would like to dispel a few lies about these attacks.

Trump supporters did not riot on January 6th in Washington. They peacefully protested the illegal manner in which the US elections were conducted. The few people who did riot were yelled at by the crowd to stop, and most have since been identified as ANTIFA members. The crowd even told the cops “We don’t want to hurt you!” And they didn’t.

Nobody was killed by this crowd. Four unarmed protestors died fighting for their country. Four. And none of them were killed by the protestors; only the cops who believed they were acting in self-defense.

President Trump did not incite violence. He sent out a message before the protest telling his supporters to "keep it peaceful," which is exactly what they did.

Unfortunately, very few news outlets will tell you this truth, and the ones that will are being censored by other outlets. You may have heard of the unbiased app Parler, which is basically the same thing as twitter. This weekend, it has been taken off of app stores left and right. Twitter suspended Trump's account for "inciting violence," using the above statement as “proof”. Other tech companies followed suit. Love Trump or hate him, I think we can all agree that this is a blatant abuse of power. If they can ban the president for successfully telling rally-goers to keep it peaceful, they can ban anyone for anything.

I will not be leaving Twitter for now. Instead, I will use my account to spread the truth about their censorship that is a plague on our society. If my account gets taken down, remember that Twitter is a blatantly evil corporation and they're not even trying to hide it. Either way, see you soon on Parler! (I am not already on it because I only found out that it exists three days ago, and I have been busy for all three of those days.)
