Saw a take going around Twitter that no trans woman is a "big Twitter account" and I think I've finally put my finger on exactly why it bothers me. I feel more comfortable talking about it here than on Twitter. So what it feels like the OP is saying is "look I don't have any actual power" but the problem is that they don't distinguish between power to protect yourself from hurt and power to hurt others. Being popular on Twitter gives you lots of the second one, but very little of the first.
And it's understandable that if you have power to hurt people but no power to protect yourself then from your perspective you will feel powerless. But feeling powerless is not the same as being powerless, and it's extremely grating when I see people dumping their feelings all over the people who they have the potential to hurt.
