We’ve been going crazy over smeets on the AIP discord. It’s about time I share some of it here. Smeets are so fun to draw, I’m dying <3 <3 <3 Everyone’s drawing smeets rn, and it’s healing my soul
I can’t pick a favorite outfit for Twix so I’ll put one in later when I decide what the ‘official’ one is. (If I remember.) Anyways! If you want to write anything involving Twix, here’s the reference. I’m sure she’ll evolve over time, but these are the basics for right now. This is for the AiP main canon, I may make bios for the other aus at some point. This includes several headcanons on irken/pak biology. Mentions of mpreg, but if you’re looking at this you’re probably fine with that.
Name: Nebula Twix Membrane
Parents: Zim and Dib Membrane
Brief Bio: Twix was conceived entirely on accident. Irkens can create embryos through consumption of foreign bodily fluids that contain DNA, and Zim gets very bitey during wrestling around with Dib, especially after they begin dating. After a little less than four and a half months, she was born. She luckily didn’t need a Pak. She was a somewhat sickly baby, mostly because- well, you’re combining two completely different species haphazardly. There’s gonna be some problems.
As she grew up and they figured out how to deal with her medical care and pumped her full of vitamins, she mostly was okay- the worst problems were her eyesight (corrected by thick goggles) her left antennae (never fully developed, she can’t hear very well with it) and her diet (pretty much trial and error on what she can and can’t eat, and there isn’t really a pattern- some similar foods, she can eat one but not the other. She keeps an alien allergy pen with her at all times).
She mostly only engaged with her parents, Gir, Minimoose, and the base computer between birth and age 7, although she did get to know Gaz and saw Professor Membrane occasionally.
She enters the public Skool system at age 7, a bit later than her peers because Zim wanted to homeskool her for a bit first before Dib said she needed friends her age. He said they’d pull her back out if they needed to if she was getting bullied. She adjusted surprisingly well, but it was still an adjustment since she wasn’t used to being around other kids.
Personality: Twix is curious, curious, curious. She loves exploring and seeing how things work as well as how they grow. She’s endlessly fascinated both by Zim’s experiments and Dib’s paranormal research, as well as the more ‘scientific’ things that he brings home from work at Membrane Labs. If she wants to know something, she’ll do anything to find it out- even if that involves breaking rules. She has a somewhat warped sense of what’s ‘good and bad’, mostly due to being raised by a pair of people whose own sense of that sort of thing is kind of messed up. She’s never malicious, but she can be callous as she does usually think of herself and her family before she’ll think of others.
She’s told in no uncertain terms that she isn’t to go telling everyone that she’s part alien- it could lead to trouble. It installed a slight sense of paranoia in trusting people at first, but over time she learned that most people will take ‘it’s a skin condition’ at face value and not prod any further. (As of the ‘time au’, only Tulip and Keef know what she is, and their lips are both sealed.)
She’s not great around other kids at first, mostly because she doesn’t fully have a concept that they don’t enjoy the things she does and might not like her talking at them or pushing things in their face. She does get better about this as she starts growing up, and she isn’t “as” eccentric as her parents to the other students, mostly because she likes listening to other students and learning about their lives.
She isn’t afraid to get dirty, and wears durable clothing that covers most of her skin to keep herself from getting scraped up.
Hobbies: Gardening/studying botany is her favorite! They’ve built a greenhouse behind the base and she spends lots of time in there. She’s especially a fan of trying to crossbreed plants to see what they look like. She also likes going on monster hunts with Dib, and playing video games.
