Before the fire, Cora was different. All the survivors were. They all lost something in the flames, even if they escaped with their lives. Derek lost his ability to trust, Peter lost his sanity and Cora lost her childhood.
She came back to Beacon Hills only to find shadows of her family, strangers walking around with the faces of her uncle and brother. She found it difficult to try and be family again. Being part of a pack, that was easier, that was instinct. But family? She didn’t know how to be a sister any more. She had only been a child and she barely remembered it.
