Hope everyone had a great Spring Break!
We will be continuing our weekly meetings tonight in MSC 3711 at 7:30 PM. Please note that this is a different meeting room from our regular meeting room.

Classification: Senior Major: Double major in Psychology and Criminology, minoring in Behavioral Healthcare Other Involvements: Active Minds USF Number of Semesters Involved: 7 semesters What TWLOHA means to me: It means hope is always at your doorstep. TWLOHA is a type of recovery and this UChapter is my second home. I've been coming to TWLOHA-USF meetings since stumbling upon it my first semester and I have been with the UChapter since. I've made some of my first friendships here when I was completely scared and alone at the university. We all shared the same fears and had the same issues; so to me, TWLOHA means family. I live and breathe TWLOHA and am happy that being a part of this organization. I hope that maybe one day, I can show someone TWLOHA and bring them into the UChapter to have the same experience because I don't want anyone to feel alone with their issues and with themselves.

Classification: Senior Major: Mass communications (public relations concentration) and a minor in creative writing Other Involvements: Her Campus USF, Creative Writers’ Club, Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, Sigma Tau Delta Number of Semesters: Five What TWLOHA USF means to me: I joined To Write Love On Her Arms USF because it was the first organization on campus that I recognized and whose values I respected. I was a transfer student who only knew two people and those two people were set in their own university lives and they didn’t really have time to include me. I had to find my own way. I found my three best friends in TWLOHA USF. One is my roommate/co-president, the other is our treasurer/brother-from-another-mother, and our past treasurer, who’s been the mother figure I needed while in college. In TWLOHA USF, I found a safe place to speak my mind, even when my opinions taste like sand in my mouth. I found a safe place to open up about my own mental health issues and the courage to seek treatment. And, as co-president, I found a platform where I can help other people and the tools to do so.
TWLOHA USF had it's first few meetings of the semester this month! And a couple of officers got the chance to meet Frank Warren, creator of PostSecret.

The Persuaded | Faded Paper Figures
Although this song is more heavy on social commentary and political subtext, it's still one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs I've ever heard. It always helps clear my head when I'm feeling particularly cynical or annoyed with life.
The most important line in this song is just persuade me that everything's alright. I think everyone needs someone to remind them of that sometimes.

First of all, I adore all of you.
Second of all, I feel like our meeting tonight was very successful and I'm glad we're all building our little community by the week. I think it's safe to say that everyone got to know a little more about one another in some big ways and I'm glad we were all able to do that together. Really, truly. I don't know about you all, but it meant the world to me.
