What: Jake and Kitty stay in another night to just.. talk.
Where: Kitty's home.
When: 6/26/13

Kitty walked over to the window Jake was looking out of, wrapping her arms around his waist. "What are you looking for?" she asked him, resting her head against his back.
Jake let the curtain fall beneath his fingers as he looked down at the small arms that had engulfed him. He shrugged as he turned around slowly. "Just seeing if there wasn't anything out there today."
Kitty looked up at him and smiled. "What do you think's going to be out there?" she asked him. "We're the things that go bump in the night. The Boogeyman would run away from us." They'd spent the past few days relatively indoors, not venturing out much. As much as she hated school, she knew they'd both need to go back tomorrow. She still wasn't feeling all the way well from her poisoning episode, but she was getting better all the time.
Jake smiled slightly before glancing back out the window. As dumb as the idea sounded, Jake believed that there was more out than there just Vampires and Werewolves. He let out a deep breath and nodded slowly. "I know. It's weird to think that I'm the real version of what everyone sees in all those horror movies." He laughed lowly and bent down to place a gentle kiss on Kitty's forehead. "I love you."
Kitty smiled up at him. "I love you, too." She sighed and walked away from the window, pulling him over to the couch. She didn't know where Brittany was, assuming she was off hanging out with Jacen. She and Jake hadn't really talked about what was happening around here, and she figured they needed to. "Who do you think poisoned me?" she asked him as they sat down on the couch, putting her legs up in his lap and laying back to look up at him.
Jake 's hands rested on top of her legs as he thought. He hadn't been to happy about Kitty being poisoned and if the boy had any idea as to who had done it, he'd go after them without any hesitation. He shook his head and looked over at her. "Honestly? I have no idea. I've been trying to wrap my head around it since it happened and I'm blank. Nothing." He let out a small breath and bit down on his lip. "I'll figure it out though and when I find them, I'll make them pay."
Kitty shrugged. Whoever had done it would definitely pay, but Kitty was the type of girl that took care of those things herself. "What's the deal with Jackson Whittemore?" she asked him. "He was threatening to stake you the other day. I thought you two were pals?"
Jake raised his eyebrows. "Jackson?" He laughed, not knowing a thing about it. "He threatened to stake me? I thought we were uh- friends too." He looked at the floor. "Why does everyone want me dead?" He asked quietly.
Kitty shrugged, sitting up. "People are assholes," she said, kissing his cheek. "But I can promise you that no one is going to hurt you, okay? I've got you." She sighed. "Between Derek and Jackson, I may have to take down the entire wolf population of Lima." She smiled, shaking her head. "I'll do it if I have to."
Jake wrapped his arm around the girl as he turned his head to face her. He gave her a gentle kiss and smiled. "Thanks Kitty. Just know that if anyone ever threatens you I'll probably lose my mind. My anger wasn't too good while I was human and it sure as hell didn't get any better with the change."
Kitty shrugged again. "I can take care of myself. Vampires get stronger when they get older. And I'm an old woman, baby." She laughed. "Super old." She laid back down on the couch and put her legs back on his lap. "I feel like everyone in town is going crazy. And today Rebekah was telling me about witches." She was quiet for a minute. "And Katherine told me there may be a cure," she said softly. "If there is, maybe we can take it and be human again." She wanted to be. She wanted them both to be.
Jake rolled his eyes. "I hate when you say that. It makes me feel weak." He knew the girl was only being honest with him, and compared to her, Jake was weak. He looked over at her as he thought about the things she was saying. Witches? That seemed more believable than vampires, but here he was, a vampire. When Kitty mentioned the cure, the boy froze. He wanted to be human again, but the thought of not being with Kitty forever was enough for him to shoot it down. "I don't want to be human again."
Kitty sat up on her elbows, staring at him. "What do you mean?" she asked him. "If we were human, we'd be normal. We'd get older, maybe have kids, be grandparents one day."
Jake shook his head. "I want to be with you forever." He looked at the arm of the couch and spoke lowly. "And I don't want to die."
Kitty understood. She'd lived so long, she'd forgotten what it was like to be a human and dread death. Sometimes she thought she'd even welcome it. But the idea of being with Jake forever was something she looked forward to. "You'll change your mind after a century or so," she told him, grinning.
Jake leaned over, his hands finding the girls side with ease. He tickled her playfully as he smiled. "Oh yeah? Are you sure I'm the one who's going to be changing their mind?" No matter how serious things got between the two, Jake always found a way to lighten up the mood.
Kitty grinned, slapping his hand away. "Maybe I'll change my mind if you keep doing stuff like that," she said. She put her arm back behind her head and frowned. "My friend Ryder is back in town," she told him. "I haven't seen him, though. He still hasn't come by. It's really weird." She sighed. "I may have to go track him down."
Jake groaned lowly at the mention of the other boy. Of course it bothered him and of course he was jealous, but he knew that Kitty would yell at him if he made a remark. "Tell me a little bit about this.. Ryder." Jake had heard his name thrown around a few times, but other than that he knew nothing of the boy.
Kitty laughed at his expression. "Quinn turned him in the 80's and left him to fend for himself. I found him before he killed his mom. We've been close ever since. Every now and then I'll take a break from following Quinn around and he'll take over. We're like...the clean up crew or something. He's my closest friend in the world, barring present company, of course." She smiled at him. "You'll like him, probably."
Jake shook his head slightly. Jake was the jealous type. "Do you not remember how pissed I got when Sebastian said you and him.. Well you know." He let out a deep breath. "We weren't even together then and I went out to fight the dude. A freaking vampire!" He laid his head beside of hers and sighed. "Probably not, but I'll give him a chance."
Kitty smiled a little. "To be fair, you didn't know he was a vampire," she reminded him. "It'll be okay, baby, I promise. Ryder's a really good guy. He's funny and dorky and will probably join the Glee club with us. Which reminds me, do you have any idea what we're doing for Nationals yet? Mr. Schue hasn't said anything."
Jake rolled his eyes. "Really good guy, yeah." He let out a deep breath and shook his head. "Schue hasn't said shit to me. I say we start doing our own stuff. We can get the club together and vote on songs. I can help teach the choreography once we have everything sorted out. Who gets the solo? Berry? I think it should be someone different."
Kitty laughed at his "get it done" attitude. "/You'll/ to the choreography, huh?" she asked him. "I seem to recall you getting a little help last time. A certain blonde vampire helped you out a little. Ringing any bells?"
Jake smiled and shook his head. "I don't recall that actually, but I'm sure that if she was willing to help me, she could." He kissed her cheek gently. "So, is she going to help me or what?"
Kitty narrowed her eyes at him. "She's not going to until you admit that she did just as much as you did last time," she said, her head bobbing with attitude.
Jake knew better than to shake the cage of Kitty Wilde. "Okay, that blonde, aka Kitty Wilde, helped me with the steps last time. She did just as much as I did and I should thank her for it."
Kitty grinned. "Thank you. And of course I'll help you." She laughed. "Now we've got that settled, we really need to figure out what songs we're doing."
Jake kissed her once and got off of her. He couldn't think if he was hovering over the top of the girl. He leaned back against the couch and thought. "I'm going old school. Footloose?"
Kitty shrugged. "That's a good one, but I was thinking Some Nights. Everyone can sing in that song; it's not really a solo. Know what I mean?"
Jake nodded as he thought of the song. "And we won't have to wear those suits. We can just all wear something casual but everyone needs to look about the same."
Kitty smiled at him. "Works for me, baby. We can practice with Footloose, though, yeah?"
Jake squeezed the girls leg and smiled. "Yeah, fine with me babe."
Kitty stood up and stretched. "And now that all the talking is out of the way..." she said, grinning down at him and holding her hand out. "To my destroyed bedroom that a certain someone /still/ hasn't fixed?"
Jake smiled innocently as he grabbed her hand and stood up. "About that," he said as his voice trailed off. "I'll get to that sometime soon babe, I promise."
Kitty rolled her eyes, laughing and leading the way. He'd get to it. It wasn't like they didn't have all the time in the world.
