in the s4 that is very real and not just in my head:
luther works with troubled kids, either a something like a teacher or a counselor/therapist. when his powers come back the ape shit doesn't because that's not actually part of his powerset it was a side effect of the serum. he's got a whole new body there's no reason why he should look like that now and frankly he's still SCARILY jacked. he also DOES find sloane (she's a scientist) again, she was also looking for him. they get married a second time, viktor and aurora are still the best man and maid of honor. they have a son named theodore who ofc they call teddy. he does have powers idk what tho.
diego works in private security but only works for people he's already torn through the life of and knows everything about. so either he's there to get you arrested or you're a nice person and he wants to help out. lila has a similar kind of job and they trade off being the at-home parent between assignments. lila bizarrely has ended up Some Kind Of Spy Or Something, which is how they find out that aurora is with the jeans when she goes missing. so it's her and diego who make the sibs all get together and deal with that. when five is pretty obviously not interested in sticking around in school he encourages him to just get his GED and either gun for college or figure something out that he wants to do. grace and the twins all have powers. it's a nightmare. also thanks to the kids n shit diego might be one of the most mature siblings now? it weirds them all out.
klaus is sober now which did take him a few years to get back to but all his siblings took turns being his support/place to crash. diego and lila's kids where a major factor in him finally cleaning up since he didn't want them to see that/be around that kind of thing and he didn't want to be absent from their lives. one of klaus' struggles though has always been that he just.... doesn't have any real skills? like he doesn't have something outside of Superhero Bullshit he's good at that can be transferred into a profession, nor a life goal he could build a path to which always leads him back into drugs and insane shit. when his powers finally come back it's actually a relief because it's something he can do. so once he has that he sets up shop as a psychic and makes his cash that way. he's the defacto babysitter since his schedule is so flexible.
viktor is in his masc exploration era which is how we end up with him owning a bar of all things. he likes how social it is and how many people are around as it makes him feel less lonely. he is trying and failing to date since he's kind of speedrunning a double adolescence atm since he never had a real teenage experience to begin with and is now doing it all over again as he transitions. he's in therapy and doing really well at learning to better regulate his emotions without completely shutting them all down. helped keep klaus on track through rehab and getting onto his own feet, still does all of his business and legal paperwork/books because klaus is just too scattered to do that shit on his own.
aurora struggled to adapt to the new universe probably the worst since she has had even less life experience than luther and the least formal training/education given her situation. she ends up living with luther since girlie doesn't even know how half the shit around her works, 50% of her understanding on things is based on dream logic. so he helps her with that and with getting her GED. she ends up working at a local cafe/bookstore before her powers start to comeback. without her powers she genuinely struggles to grasp if things are a dream or not which leads to her falling into the clutches of gene and jean. thankfully she has the sense to not snitch on her siblings but she does kind of vanish and fall off the grid which turns into The New Family Crisis for a bit there.
when her powers come back she has a much better sense of reality but also starts to struggle more and more with staying awake which leads to her being unable to work or do much on her own. She's on disability now and writes fiction and poetry when she's awake enough and not maximizing her window for socializing. she has a spare room in her apartment for her siblings and yes, she does guilt them occasionally into visiting (diego and luther get passes since they have kids). klaus and five are historically the most frequent visitors since klaus isn't super fond of living alone and five is a worrier without anything huge to worry about anymore. her siblings all kind of sort of co-manage her affairs which is.... as functional as you'd think. (it's usually sloane or five actually handling it all realistically)
