Y’all seen this movie? 🙄
Earlier today, I went into this movie called Two Distant Strangers without reading the synopsis after seeing this poster on the Netflix app:
It’s about them, right? No 😒
You gotta be fucking kidding me… This is trauma porn in a damn loop. Literally. A Black man wakes up everyday trying to strategize and defy his death at the hands of a cop who shoots him. Yes, I’m spoiling it. Don’t watch it...if you haven’t already 🤦🏽♀️. I skipped through to the end...and peeped that they tried to make it sappy at one point. What in the tone deaf... Go straight hell. Go.
Here’s the real cover:
This fetish with displaying Black trauma and death in movies needs to end.
And they won a fucking Oscar... Surprised?
Oh, that smile though.... Happy Thirsty Thursday! :)

#78: Two Distant Strangers (2020, dir. by Travon Free & Martin Desmond Roe)
I stop watching this after noticing its soundtrack. They literally copy it from blockbuster films and no credits for them. (Birds Of Prey, Joker, Inglourious Basterds, US, Gone girl and especially Hereditary & TENET.)
I thought Netflix maybe take some action for this, but I'm no longer surprise if they do nothing after they won oscar by stealing idea from another original short film.
